Iâve lived in this area my whole life. Iâve been shopping at your store for over 40 yearsâsince I was a little kid coming into Packingtown with my grandmother. Every time we got a lease check, weâd eat at Cattlemenâs, then swing by your store for some new boots or a nice vest. This place has been a part of my familyâs tradition.
Recently, my daughter wanted to get me a new vest for Fatherâs Day. We were dressed nicelyâno, not in full western wear, but respectable nonetheless. Iâm brown-skinned and heavily tattooed. That shouldnât matterâbut it seemed to.
An older white couple walked in just ahead of us and were greeted immediately. My daughter and I walked in seconds later, and not a single person said a word to us. We wandered around the store for at least 15 minutesâno greeting, no offer of help, no acknowledgment at all. Iâve never experienced that level of being overlooked here, or frankly, anywhere Iâve shopped locally.
Eventually, I found the vests on my own. But by then, I had made up my mindâwe werenât spending our money there. We left and went to Boot Barn, where I was greeted right away. A young man helped me find several styles of vests, checked on me multiple times, and another associate even came by offering to assist. The difference in treatment was night and day.
What started as a simple trip to replace a vest turned into us spending nearly $800 at Boot Barn. I walked out with a great vestâand a fresh pair of ostrich-hide boots to match. Thatâs what real customer service looks like.
I shouldn't have to wear cowboy boots or put on a western shirt for someone to acknowledge me in a store I've supported for decades. I shouldnât need to prove my worthâor the land my family ownsâto be treated like a customer, or a human being.
Thatâs why I left a one-star review. I hope this feedback makes its way to someone who...
Read moreWe drove 3hrs for a day of shopping. I specifically wanted to go to Langstonâs because I have heard that they have good deals. They had pretty good deals but the employees ruin this place! I was looking at the and an employee was folding some jeans yelling across the store to another employee griping about someone taking too long on their lunch break. She was so busy talking across the store complaining that she couldnât hear me say excuse me, so I could get to a pair of jeans I wanted to try on. I then gave up and just took the three pairs I already had, and a tshirt to the fitting room to try them on. One pair didnât fit so I went to go get another size and upon returning the same lady that was complaining about her coworkers was walking out of the dressing room my stuff was in with the clothes I was trying on. I politely said âIâm sorry I wasnât done with those. The employee then very rudely yelled at me and stated âwell youâre only allowed to have four items at a timeâ. I politely handed her the jeans in my hand and told my husband we were not spending any of our money in that store. Please do better on training...
Read moreDrove from Stillwater very excited to buy my first felt hat. I told the man helping me that I was new to felt and this was my first time purchasing one. I picked out a nice hat and started describing the crown. When he started shaping the crown, I asked if we could make it a little deeper and more squat than normal. He stopped what he was doing and told me that he was getting there and that I needed to be patient. Caught me completely off guard because it felt like I was now being talked down too. Every question after that got met with the same rudeness. I asked about the Resistol felt bands and it sounded like he was getting onto me for even asking if they sold them. I got to a point where I was tuning him out. Towards the end of him shaping the brim he started talking about corners of the hat. I guess I didnât realize he was asking me which one I liked best and he then got irritated and told me âI guess you donât know that Iâm asking you a questionâ. I told him no I didnât. I was to the point where I just wanted to leave but I spent a lot of time driving and was excited about a new hat. I will never make another...
