Absolutely unacceptable experience at Veraâs Posh Paws on Northwest Expressway in OKC.
I dropped off three dogs for their scheduled grooming appointments around 9 AM. I filled out all the paperwork, gave clear grooming instructions Shave their bodies down to 1/4 inch left hair only on bodies 1/2 in on legs and normal faces for their breeds , and was told theyâd be ready by 4 PM.
Around 3 PM we were in the area so , we stopped by because no one was answering the phone we tried calling several times . After waiting in line, we were told one of the dogs had just been taken backâat 3 PMâsix hours after drop-off. The groomer had just come in from a smoke break we saw her walking out as we walked in. We were told it would be another 30 minutes and theyâd call us when she was done. The groomer said I have finishing touches to do, This is when we were prompted to pay up front and wait outsideâso we did.
We waited 45 minutes. No call.
Went back in, waited in line again, and now weâre being told there was a âmiscommunicationââthat the groomer didnât realize the dog was with us. Thatâs completely false. Three employees had already acknowledged her nearly an hour earlier.
Then weâre told she had just been bathed and dried⌠and Iâd have to come back tomorrow to finish the groom. Are you serious?
Absolutely not. My dogs donât stay in cages all day for nothing. So now she sat in a cage from 9 AM to 3 PM, finally got bathed and dried, then stuck right back in a cageâbecause she still wasnât being groomed. Clearly.
I had already paidâand yes, the system prompted for a tip, which I didnât leave because I hadnât even seen my dog. I asked for a refund and was told only a manager could handle that. I asked for a call todayânot âsometimeââand the woman at the front said she didnât even know what day that would happen. Completely unacceptable.
Letâs be clearâthis is a 12-pound dog. There is no reason it should take two hours to bathe and dry her. That tells me all three dogs likely sat untouched for most of the day.
To make things worse, when we got home, I got an alert that her AirTag was left behind. We had to drive back AGAIN to get her collarâand that turned into another 30-minute wait. And when we left, we were told to âhave a better day.â Unbelievable.
But sureâthey made damn sure to take our money, knowing full well the dog was never even groomed.
We didnât get home until 5 PMâangry, disappointed, and completely disrespected.
I expect a full refund, a call from a manager, and assurance that this kind of chaos will not happen again. If you value your time, your pets, or basic customer serviceârethink bringing your animals here. We will not be taking any more...
Read moreUpdate to all people pissed with this establishment. I had them served and went to court and after their lawyer intimidated me I dropped it, never got my money back never had anything paid for by them. My pup is going on 14 now and thankfully he can still get around even after this place which I know for alot that's not the case!!! I hope the people who have lost their animals to this cruel establishment get some kind of justice because it is totally unacceptable what they do to animals here.
I will never be boarding my dog again anywhere after this experience. It was our first time boarding our 6 year old golden lab/retriever. He isn't fixed so I was told he would be by himself the whole time. He was here for 10 days because we left the country. I picked him up, he wasn't super excited to see me so I just thought he was mad at me. I get him to the car and see open wounds from his eye to his throat. I go back in asking what happened to him and was told that she thought I brought him in that way. Nobody has given me a specific answer, now I'm being told it is hot spots. There are old wounds and fresh wounds and I wish I knew what happened to my poor, sweet friend. I took in a care free, fun and cuddle loving dog and picked up a shell of a dog. It took days for him to start to act normal again, his lips and eyes are still bloody after 3 days of me caring for him. He wouldn't go to the bathroom without me outside with him for 2 days, lost 8 pounds, and had diarrhea for 2 days. I was never informed there was a problem, I had to ask them what's wrong with him and it was then deflected back to me as if it was my fault. The fact of the matter is my dog was in their care, none of my emergency contacts were notified and he was left to suffer for god only knows how long. I was never able to check in on the webcam as it was always nap time. I've had to spend $125 in vet bills from this establishment. My dog is traumatized and probably will never be the same. If you care about your dog, dont send them to...

Weâve used Posh Paws for day care, lodging and grooming for several months. Like all of you we want the best for our companion animal and this business appears to be no better or worse than many others in this area. However, we wonât be back after our last dealings with Posh Paws.
If you are considering grooming there you might want to read further regarding what happened to us recently. We had an appointment and dropped off our dog just prior to 9:00 am, just at the groomer was arriving. This is a small dog; five hours later I called to see when he would be ready. I was informed that two other customers had âpushed for sooner pick up times". This sounded like two clients that came behind us were moved ahead of our appointment.
At seven hours I called again and was advised he was being finished up.
Finally, at 7 ½ hours I had enough and drove there and told the two individuals at the front I wanted my dog regardless of his condition. When I complained about the absolutely ludicrous time frame one of the personnel stated âweâve been busyâ. Really, 7 ½ hours to groom a 20-pound dog! The other simply stared at me like I was over expecting.
At no time did anyone there so much as entertain the thought of expressing some small form of an apology. Not very good business sense.
The groomer has always done a good job with our dog and weâll miss that. But, if you let other customers muscle their way into a shorter time frame while my dog sits in a cage for most of the day; well, there are other kennels and groomers elsewhere. Even if their comeback is they were busy or many other clients were ahead of us (and I seriously doubt that), then someone should have made that clear at check-in and not 7 ½ long and unnecessary hours later.
Extremely poor customer...
