One star is too much for this guy, but just in order to leave a review I’ll give him one. Others need to be warned. Do not let this man work on your car. I learned AFTER he started working on ours, that he’s not even a real mechanic. He way overcharged my granddaughter once he found out Nana was paying. He made me pay for the part up front $321, he said because he was a small business and couldn’t afford to order it. Then he charged me $1231 for labor and told me we couldn’t have the car back if we didn’t pay up… THEN he offered to take the car off my hands because there was a chance it would tear up again. He was going to waive labor charges but not going to refund the parts charge if I just gave him the car vs the salvage. My granddaughter waited nearly two weeks for the repairs to be done and the day she picked it up she got about a mile down the road and it overheated again. When I called him, he pretty much didn’t give a flip said he was done and there was nothing else he could do and refused to give even a partial refund. We later learned there was no new part, but to me… the most crooked thing he did was that she took the car to him with a full tank of gas (using her own money from her restaurant job when gas was at an all time high) and when she picked it up the car was on empty! Let me start by saying Hippies Fix It All in Oneida have been working on my cars for years, and I would never take my vehicles elsewhere. Whenever I have a mechanical issue, they get the vehicle right away..no waiting at all. The mechanic or usually the owner , Hippie, shows me the problem under the hood itself and explains what the issue is thoroughly in terms that I can understand, giving me an honest opinion on what the best course of action is for that specific vehicle. One time for curiosity, I cross priced a particular repair with other popular mechanics in the area. Hippies prices was literally 50 to 75% of other leading shops. As a woman, sometimes we worry that a mechanic will see us coming and try to swindle us given our lack of knowledge in auto repair. NOT at Hippies. I've never questioned the integrity of the owner at Hippies Fix it all, or their competency in making sure my vehicles remain in safe and tip top shape. Why would I take my cars anywhere else?
