Opelika store is always short staffed, one of the older ladies that works there, wants to sit for the duration of her shift, BUT IS constantly complaining... Management has changed in the past week, with no one saying why ..Which is "just ok" for them.. doesn't sit well with me...AND, instead of New management getting to know new employees, They just come in making demands...ABSOLUTELY NO ONE GETS RAISES, AND IT'S UNHEARD OF, as far as a Raise goes..NO baggers, for a minimum of 1 OR 2 cashiers On a busy shift. And, grocery orders are coming thru in excess of $200 to $300 a cart..No one seems to care, And it shows...THE turn over rate for hired And fired or quits at this location is too high... BUT, No salary increases, Or just a small amount of compassion for the people that actually show up to work, and don't mind putting in the work, their high turnover will never change unless the location And managers are willing to change things..YOU CAN BE HASSLED AND HARASSED ABOUT A NAME TAG, BUT NOTHING IS SAID ABOUT DIRTY UNIFORMS BEING WORN EVERYDAY...The produce area/floor stays nasty. The customers, come in and constantly complain, that it needs cleaning. Plus, there are no bags in the area most times for them to even put their purchases in...The Produce Manager is Lazy, and acts like she just doesn't care. Produce just sits there and be looking bad for absolutely too long.... A customer said, recently, that it "looks like the Produce "needed" some one to go shopping for it, (AND IT DID) And THAT, He couldn't shop in there, AND He Left... IT'S sad, but it's True...No help in the evenings to pull carts in.. Customers, come in to shop, And NOT one cart in the store...Managers, leave at the END OF THEIR SHIFT, KNOWING that someone has called out, And that the evening Manager, is short a person OR sometimes 2, without any regards as to them being short.. there's no structure at this location.. Nothing is put in writing..And making demands doesn't cope well for everyone..When you work hard, And your Work ethics are different, demands or commands just doesn't sit well with some people. Store meetings need to be held! ALL companies have store meetings, so that All their employees are on the same page, And up to date...BUT NOT THIS PLACE....YOU just come in one day, And if no one informs you, YOU FIND OUT, WHEN YOU FIND OUT.. (A lot of people only work here, out of convenience, AND That's the only reason.) Hours are being cut, AND, instead of someone at least saying, Hey guys, we're cutting hours this week, Because....... OR something.. NOTHING...Something should be communicated to the employees.. AND, LET'S NOT talk about the scheduling,,,such POOR SCHEDULING,, Shifts are NOT EVEN COVERED, as they need to be...No one, and I mean, no one lets you know Absolutely, anything on the hours being cut until the schedule for the next week is put up.. this should at least be communicated..Good help is hard to find, BUT, IT'S ALSO HARD TO KEEP, I COULD GO ON, BUT THIS STORE DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE THE 1 ⭐ I GAVE THEM......

And they still have a senior discount on Wednesday! This store is very old, very worn. It was the Opelika Kroger 40 years ago, so don't expect a new facility or updated finishes, furnishing and fixtures. That being said, they carry local items that no one else has, like Dirt Road Casseroles and Foy's BBQ. Best of all, the employees are friendly and helpful. Upon leaving Piggly Wiggly on yesterday (9/30/17), a short, older, black gentleman was playing the song “Stand Up In It” from his truck. The music was extremely loud and he would holler often. This is horrible!! It’s rnough that beggars hang outside the store asking for money but to play this kind of sexual content music tops the cake! I bet this is not aloud at Publix! What if my 5 year old grandchild had been with me?? The store doesn’t care cause we’re all black! They know “Mrs. Jane” is not going to shop there buying that ruined meat! Where is the security here?
