We always like coming to Alum Creek because there are several little spots we can let our dogs off the leash and play. It also gives us a break off the boat to stretch out and just hang out. There is a beach which isn't to bad, there is some sand so that it isn't just mud in between your toes. Although the sand is a little course up on the shore. You might want your sandals if you go walking. It can get pretty busy/crowded depending on when you go. We have been to Delaware Dam, Deer Creek, Buckeye Lake and Dillon Dam and none of them have shady spots where you can pull up to with your boat. Don't get me wrong the other lakes have their own perks but as far as cool little places out of the sun you can get to on your boat they just don't have any.
