2924 update I purchased vinyl windows with screens. After installing the windows and putting permanent trim around them I found the screens are all 1/8" too big to fit in. The manager of the Lewis Center store refused to do anything. The manufacturer would only sell me additional screens at my cost. The store manager refused to advocate fir me with his supplier. Buyer beware, scummy management.

2018 update, there are several staff members who have been very helpful lately. My below review was 2016 2017 This Menards could be a great store, unfortunately they stand in their own way of achieving that. There is no customer service, no knowledge, nobody to answer the phone, no interest in customer service. Basically if they have it on the shelf and you like it for the price buy it, don't expect anything more. I have often had to show employees how to use the computer and where to find information or products.

The 11% rebate is the biggest scam, they mark items up 8% - 15% beforehand. Then I only eventually get back about 80% of the rebates I send in. State laws need to zero in on this practice better. BTW Rebate International is a 100% Menards company.

It's nice to carry so many american and local made products, you will find many are made in Ohio! But you still have to really be careful about Menards pricing strategy. 5% to 10% of the items in the store will be priced and advertised at below market prices, all other items will be priced significantly higher to cover the cost and provide profit. It's all about mind games and Menards is very good at it. Another tactic is to carry items similar to other stores but not the same SKU. So, the item is technically different but really, there is no difference. This is especially true with tools. Watch out for steep price changes too. I bought a wrench set for $40 reg price, weeks later the price was $80 then down to $65 sale price. Its a total farce and you will get screwed if you're not careful.

We began our kitchen renovation in November 2019. We decided to use Menards & DIY. After 3 counter top templates and months of waiting for Menards and the manufacturer to discuss back and forth, we finally received our counter tops on February 1, 2020. They were wrong. After more discussing and headache, they are working to correct their mistake. They are compensating a measly amount, after months of this being dragged out as well as multiple errors. When we asked to be compensated in a more respectable way, they declined. We will not recommend Menards for home renovation work, especially dealing with counter tops. Very dissatisfied with the way this has been handled.

ETA (02/28/2020): Still no counter tops. They are now beyond the 2 week lead time from ordering, even though we were promised our order would be rushed. Our order shipped in 2 separate pieces from the manufacturer and are being told we cannot have it delivered until both pieces are at the store. We were also told several different things about our counter tops arriving or not arriving at the distribution center (someone said they had, someone said they hadn't). We are almost 1 month out from the day our first set of counter tops arrived incorrectly. It's looking to be at least 3 more days since we are going into the weekend. Menards is refusing to refund anything of value for this atrocious mess. I have contacted and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
