To start this off — my s/o and I was very excited to explore the store as it was our first time there. We immediately noticed that the inside was spacious, clean, and new with numerous goods ranging from clothes to appliances. Essentially, we could not wait to see what kind of great deals were available. Whilst shopping, I felt fairly uncomfortable as I can feel eyes watching us from staff members. I am unsure if it was because of our race (as we were one of the few Asians in the store) or the way we dressed (as if we looked like kids that were going to steal), but it was incredibly obvious that the store owner and security guard were closely paying attention to us. Initially, I thought I was overthinking and possibly overreacting; however, the following events solidified my theory. In the midst of shopping, we noticed we had too many stuff in our hands that it was necessary for us to get a cart/basket. The baskets were located at the front of the store so we approached the area to grab one. As we were walking away, I overheard the security talking to the cashier thinking that we were going to steal or run out the front with the items. Moments later, I noticed the store owner blatantly and visibly following us around the store. Instantly, I told my s/o about it so we ended up checking out. Also, there were no cashiers in sight as we waited minutes until we were actually helped. Truthfully, I have never felt more uncomfortable in a store in my years of living. I felt as if we were being indirectly harassed and targeted for no apparent reason. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this store as it is considerably obvious that we are not welcomed. Lastly, I would like to address the security guard — the next time you feel the need to bad mouth your customers, please firstly make sure they are at least 10 feet away from you. Also, for the store owner — the next time you want to follow your customers, please try not to make it too obvious.
P.S. I am a registered nurse and my s/o is a software engineer. Trust me, there is no need for...
Read moreWell, got to say, we usually have a good experience shopping here, but today, it was not so good. Sent my husband in to pick up an ingredient I needed for a recipe. I was real happy that I saw Costless had posted the item on sale the night before. I actually took a screenshot of the item from their video so my husband would know exactly what I wanted. I have to say though, since last year, we've had trouble with finding items that were advertised and/or getting the sale price. I'm just going to put that out there. Today after my husband came home I noticed that once again we had been overcharged. I called the store immediately and spoke to a gentleman that told me to bring in proof of the ad and they'll honor the sale price. Well, sent my husband back with a screenshot that shows the item, the sale price even the Costless Wharehouse logo and it still wasn't good enough. The same guy that told me to bring in proof told my husband he needed to provide the VIDEO of the ad, that he wouldn't accept the screenshot. Really?? You want the video?? Seriously?? My husband also said the guy was being lowkey rude about it. So, now if a screenshot isn't acceptable and now accessing video to get sale priced items is expected, especially if you guys don't have price signs out, you guys should put that requirement of "showing proof" in your advertising to let all your customers know. It wouldn't be a bad idea to be nice as well, customers are why you're in business in the first place, right? I don't care if a customer is spending a dollar or hundreds of dollars, you should make our shopping experience a good one to make sure we want...
