Audio Contractors — Local services in Oregon

In the fall of 2017 my wife and I decided to upgrade our whole-house audio/video system from the level of technology of 2006 when we built our house (CAT 5 cable, ethernet cable and Standard Definition LCD screen TVs) to Ultra HD 4K TVs and dual internet service providers. Our house is 5600 sq. ft. and has 9 video & audio locations and 4 additional audio only locations. One of the video & audio locations is a home theater room with a ceiling-mounted front projector, dolby 7-speaker surround system and extra woofer speakers. In addition, we wanted to add a NAS (network attached storage) system for managing our digital lives (movies, music, videos, photos, storage and back-up) and to upgrade 3 wi-fi hot spots throughout the house. Since we live in a rural area we have 4G LTE cellular internet service from Verizon and our television provider is DirecTV Satellite service. As part of the project we also upgraded our TV satellite service to the new Genie 2 server system and added DVR service. Another complicating factor is that we are a total Apple environment. We researched local retailers capable of dealing with retrofitting such a complicated system.

We selected Audio Contractors of Oregon, WI. We could not have been happier with our decision! This does not mean that there were not problems along the way. It means that Audio Contractors faced all the problems head on, with a smile, words of comfort and assurance, and ultimately their staff knowledge and experience solved all the problems encountered. What started out in January 2018 as a single project was divided into 4 phases that lasted until August 2018. The division into phases helped us financially spread the costs over time as well as allowed us to learn the intricacies of how to operate all the new equipment and technologies. It also allowed for debugging and tweaking the system that had been retro-fitted into 2006 technology infrastructure without any loss of 2018 technology performance. All-in-all, it was a miraculous upgrade/conversion. (Our urban relatives are all extremely jealous!)

Outstanding Service from Audio Contractors!! *

They prewired the house and provided me with top-notch hi-fi equipment for a 7,500 sq. ft. home. I remember going to John's shop to pick out speakers. He had a great selection that I was able to listen to before purchasing. After our home was finished, everything worked great. Rex Hopkins, one of John's installers, did a lot of the work. He is an absolute wizard when it comes to configuring AV systems. Great problem solver and nice guy. Over the years, as I upgraded equipment, I could always call Rex and ask him for help. He stopped over on many different occasions to trouble shoot and help me when I had questions. Last year Rex did a complete update of our upstairs TV and sound system. He built much of the cabinetry himself and installed a new SONOS system. When we sold our house this past summer, I called John to see if he could dismantle everything that we had installed. He sent Rex to do the job, and as usual, he did outstanding work. We packed everything and got it ready for our move. Just last month Rex and another installer from Audio Contractors drove down to Waukesha and re-installed everything in our new home. They did an outstanding job cleaning up the mess that the ATT cable installers had left and set up everything just the way I wanted. John has always been accessible to me when I've had questions; he knows and deals in the best audio equipment available, and his installers have been outstanding. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Audio Contractors to anybody looking for high quality AV systems and great install guys.
