This place is by far the worst place I have ever lived. Management are crooks. When we moved in, the place was dirty and no repairs had been made. There was a pile of trash in our breezeway that we had to take to the dumpster and there was furniture too that was heavy and we had to make a maintenance request for them to move it that took weeks. We even had to make a maintenance request for a new dishwasher because that was broken. When we moved out management said we never turned in the move in paperwork with all the previous damage but they did have our ESA paperwork. Even though we had time stamped pictures that were evidence of the damage when we moved in, we were made to pay for the damage that was not fixed when we moved in. Also if you think you will get your security deposit think again. We literally had a painter paint all the walls just to make sure we would get our money back cause it was cheaper than having them do it and even left the appt better than when we moved in. They still charged a ridiculous amount to paint all the walls when we already did and thatâs how you know they will charge you for stuff that is not needed so you get the minimum amount on your return. These where just problems with move out. When living their they would have routine maintenance check ins that they said where standard and mandatory which I have never had that at any other appt but fine. They would give a time frame they would come in and have someone look around and change an air filter for the AC unit. I had a newborn baby and so this was a struggle but I was prepared at the time they said they would come but they never came at the scheduled time⌠In fact they would come weeks later. Move here if you like your newborn baby including you woken up from a nap because someone is pounding on your door saying you had to let them in when you were not notified they were coming! Also they are allowed to enter your appt if you are not there if it is in the scheduled time they are coming but remember they donât come at the scheduled times so who knows when they are entering your apartment. If you think you can deal with this once think again cause this maintenance check in was very frequent. You always knew when someone in your building moved out cause your apartment would smell like chemicals because they always had to refinish the showers. When I called in about it worried about my newborn they said it was safe but the smell was so strong if you had asthma you couldnât be in your appt. If you live here I hope you have time during the week days to do your laundry because good luck trying to find an open washer or dryer on week nights or weekends. Also you will have to pay twice for the dryer because they are not strong enough to dry your clothes in one cycle but you better get down there asap or someone will move your wet clothes on top of the dryer to put their clothes in. If I were you I would move to the apartments down the road on Geneva instead because they are cheaper, have in-unit washer dryers and donât have the frequent maintenance check- ins at random times and they have a pool! The price for these apartments is so not worth it! You can find cheaper and safer places near by. That reminds me the amount of times the cops where at the appts taking care of something was alarming! If it were me I would just look elsewhere you actually arenât saving any money with them cause they will get you on your safety deposit no matter what you do and likely you are paying for someone...
Read moreTL;DR: There are many hidden fees, which are not in the lease agreement. The new management is rude, insensitive, and dishonest.
Note: Be skeptical of old reviews because management has switched several times and be skeptical of good reviews because at least one of them is from one of the managers and management bribed current tenants to write good reviews. (Also, one of the good reviews includes their stock photos.) Finally, many of the replies to the reviews here are filled with complete lies.
My wife and I lived in an apartment here for a couple of years. At first, it was a great deal. It had a great location and an even better price. My wife and I were excited to live here.
However, that changed when the current management took over. They seemed intent on getting rid of all of their tenants. They started by increasing rent and by adding multiple hidden fees that were not in the original contract with little warning that they would do so, which was against the lease agreement which stated that they needed to give 30 days notice for any new fees. These fees included: parking, media package, pet cleanup, and water/trash/sewage. All of these fees increased the rent by about $100-$200 a month.
The new management continued their war on their tenants by forcing tenants to either move into a renovated apartment or leave. Although the renovated apartments were not much different than the old apartments (new paint, flooring, cabinets, and appliances), the new management was charging a whopping $1285 for them, and that doesn't include hidden fees. (They've since added even more fees to the list.)
Making matters worse is that the new management was often rude and insensitive. The manager would send at least one email to tenants every day (and sometimes multiple a day). Not only was the quantity excessive and annoying, but these emails were often demanding, threatening, and rude--detailing everything that tenants were doing wrong. (In addition, these emails were filled with grammatical errors that were laughable at best and unreadable at worst.) The new management was also rude in other ways, too. For example, they couldn't quite understand that a dog can be an emotional support animal, and thus protected from added fees and eviction, no matter how many times we explained it to them or showed our paperwork. At one point, they even threatened to evict us because of our dog and only stopped when we threatened to sue.
Also, even though they were planning on renovating our old apartment when we moved, which would include tearing out the carpet, they still charged us a carpet cleaning fee, so don't expect to get your full deposit back.
In review, the management is horrible! They are rude, dishonest, and insensitive. They're also intent on making as much money as possible, even if it's to the suffering of their tenants. They simply do not care about their tenants. Period. Do...
Read moreNew Year's Eve 12am!! Waiting by the cars to boot them in VISITOR PARKING!! Never live at courtside apartments ever!!!!! 75 dollars for a boot seconds after they put it on. IF YOUR LIVE AT COURTSIDE MOVE OUT!!! DONT LET YOUR WORST ENEMY LIVE HERE. NOT ONLY IS MANAGEMENT A JOKE SO IS THE COMPANY THEY USE FOR PARKING PROTECTION. Had other people park past 1 am and didn't get towed or booted. Cars parked with boots for months never moved but on NEW YEARS EVE THEY ARE WAITING OUTSIDE FOR MIDNIGHT TO BOOT CARS. We moved in under a different management who were amazing and helpful, even let us move in early. Change management and down the tank it all went. The office has three people that I know of, the manager guy has never once been helpful even sent one of my best friends to the office to move in here and he wouldn't help them move in (referral business is important no matter what business) the Hispanic lady can't do math if it saved her life. On multiple occasions she has tried to correct either me or my wife on what we owe for rent ( almost like she's trying to pocket any extra) and barely speaks English ( I speak Spanish, I love Spanish speakers, so not just dumping on Latinos) and she wants to argue any time I go into the office.
The third young lady, I've only had minimum contact with so can't say if she's good or bad. They recently stopped putting doggy bags out so owners could clean up after thier dogs. You couldn't even cross the grass with out stepping in feces, ( not their fault but they had till recently provided doggy bags).
Next the laundry room washers often don't drain and are left with standing water in them for sometimes MONTHS! The washers and dryers look older then most of the tenants here. Of the 12 dryers only 2 actually work (three work if you are willing to let your clothes get shredded and wear rags) and even those 2 often take more then one time paying to get them dry. We have had to fix our toilet twice (internal parts in tank) because they wouldn't fix it or send someone to fix it so we ended up paying out of our pocket. Heater in the apartment works when it wants. It was 10 or so degrees out side when we came home from vacation and our apartment inside, though we left heater on was around internally 40. The heater didn't kick on most of the day yet this is another thing they claim isn't their problem to fix.
When we moved in, there were melted spots on the kitchen floor, holes in the walls that looked like someone had thrown pots across the wall, the disposal broke (another thing we had to figure out on our own) and from the sounds of other reviews we are going to have to pay for ALL of the previous damages out of our deposit even though we have documented each and every mark that was destroyed BEFORE we moved in, which will NOT happen.
DO NOT MOVE IN NO MATTER WHAT THEY OFFER! YOU ARE BETTER OFF PAYING FOR ANYTHING...
