Dollar General — Local services in Orland

i just wanted to mention the good service i received from the employees this evening i didnt get the lady that helped me at check out, but she was very warm and friendly... the store had just recovered from a rush when i walked in.The other employee ive known, Alexis since her first days at dg and i also wanted to mention how kind and helpful she has been and not with just me, with other customers as well always good attitude and willing to help me with finding items.She does this in spite of the store being understaffed really since the 6 or so years ive been a customer of orland dg..the reason for my review is since ive been a customer of the orland dg ive seen how corporate dg fails its employees. and the pay scale for the employees sucks. the paychecks they get doesnt match the workload dg corporate charges the employees with.. i know this. a lot of us...

I'm there frequently and it saves me from having to go to meijer or walmart for many things. what i like best about the orland DG are the employees..in particular Cori and Alexis..Alexis ive known for two or so years from being a customer there and she has always been friendly and helpful not just with me ive seen her interact with other customers with the same friendly smile and willingness to help no matter how busy the store is..Cori helped me at check-out just after a busy rush still smiling making sure i had everything when i know she was exhausted and i admire that. i appreciate the work they do and probably the biggest reason why...

Summer 2019. Entirely different experience from last summer. The store aisles are cluttered with carts of merchandise that needs to be shelved. Shelves are empty. Store is dirty. The merchandise blocks a customers ability to shop. You can’t see over the carts. And cannot get a grocery cart past them. It’s not the same as last year. Very sad. Did management change? Also on numerous occasions, I have observed staff members outside the front of the store smoking and on cell phone. It used to be such a pleasant experience. This particular store needs some restructuring. Doesn’t even deserve one star, sad...
