Only been twice (near the wawa on boggy creek and lake nona blvd), so can't comment on all items. So far one order I got was 3 different tacos (al pastor, chorizo, etc) and the other was the green beef enchiladas. I was really happy with the tacos. I thought they had good flavor and they were decently proportioned. I was not so much a fan of the enchiladas. It was 3 tiny enchiladas and I felt like the green "sauce" didn't have a lot of flavor and had an out of the bottle kind of look to it (not sure if it was homemade or not). The enchiladas were also not hot, just warm. It came with a small portion of beans and rice. Both orders I placed included some chips and a side of a verde salsa and a chipotle style salsa. I appreciated that there's some heat to the flavors. I wasn't sweating bullets or anything, but it's nice when the food has enough spice to make you almost sweat! If it's your first time, try the tacos. I'll definitely be back and will probably bring some friends.
10/1/24 Been a couple more times. The food is still good, but only part of the time do they provide the chips and both salsas. I'm not sure why. Sometimes I get no chips and the green salsa. Sometimes I get the verde and chipotle salsas with a small bag of chips. Maybe you just need to ask? No idea. Never asked before when I received. I will also say I'm not a huge fan of the asada taco--it can taste a bit burnt. But I think I've tried most, if not all, of the others and they're great. Also, I feel like they used to provide 2 corn tortillas per taco but the most recent time I was there only had 1 per taco. Personally, I'm fine with 1 tortilla per taco, but it just seems strange because I think 2 tortillas is normal and in the past I believe it was 2 tortillas.
10/12/24 update: Came back again, and guess somehow they recognized me from the reviews. The woman shared that the chips are something of a first come first served thing, so when they run out they don't have anymore. Which I totally understand. I was also told you can request the other salsa. So you may or may not get chips when you place an order, and if you want the other salsa I guess just ask. I love their food for the most part, but I won't deny it was a little awkward this time for me because of the interaction--would have been nice if they'd simply asked me if I wrote a/the review and then responded to my concerns. I have no problem updating reviews (as you can see). That shouldn't keep anyone from going there. You should go. They...
Read moreI first tried this taco truck at an event last year and was thrilled to find out they regularly pop up in my neighborhood! This is my fourth time enjoying their food, and the birria tacos are hands down my favorite. The real standout is the salsas that come with every order – they take the flavors to the next level!
I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Ruben, who noticed the modifications I made to the Cali burrito and actually asked for my feedback to improve my experience. It was so refreshing to see him genuinely care about customer satisfaction. He was receptive and positive, which made me appreciate the experience even more.
Tacos El Pecas has quickly become a go-to for authentic Mexican food in the area. Highly recommend it, and don't forget to grab some churros – you...
Read moreUpdate 8/23/25: I was in the area and excited to bring my husband to the truck that I've talked up for months. Today, things were not on point. Tacos al pastor had no pineapple and the meat was dry and cool. No small bag of chips was given. Huge pieces of red onion. The tray wasn't made up like usual. Didn't see any of the faces working that I have encoutered before, so maybe its just a consistency issue with certain staff.
Original review July 2025: Delicious tacos! Came across the truck a few months back while working in the area. Glad I get to return for work so I can eat more tacos. 🌮 Chelsea was super friendly and filled me in on a special that got me an extra taco for free - actually a little cheaper than buying 3 separately! Will be...
