I used Local Movers, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst moving experiences I’ve ever had. The first photo shows how my Upack trailer was packed before I complained (on a $1200 job), and the second photo is after they returned to fix it. I found the company via a Google search and scheduled a move for 8/14/2025. The job was to move my items from my apartment into a truck, transport them to ABF, and pack them into an Upack trailer. I was told they were familiar with Upack and had done similar jobs before, so I trusted them. However, once the movers finished loading the trailer, it was clearly a disaster. The packing job was chaotic and practically guaranteed damage during transit (from Florida to New Jersey). When I raised concerns, the movers drove off without addressing anything. I contacted their manager, Roger, who spent 15 minutes trying to convince me that it was a good job. He refused to take responsibility, denied any issues, and even suggested it wasn't Local Movers’ problem if anything broke during transit. Only then did I realize that Local Movers outsources their work to third-party labor, something they never disclosed to me upfront. The movers didn’t arrive in a Local Movers truck, but rather a rented U-Haul. Roger then passed me off to Ryan, the owner. To his credit, Ryan immediately acknowledged the poor job once he saw the photos and agreed to send a new team to fix it. But an hour and a half later, the same two movers returned to repack the trailer, and did a much better job the second time. Which begs the question: if they knew how to do it correctly, why didn’t they just do that in the first place? Because of the delay, I had to rebook my flight and stay in a hotel overnight, extra costs that could’ve been avoided with competent service the first time. I paid $1200 for what was supposed to be a simple, stress-free move. Instead, it was a day full of frustration, wasted time, and unexpected expenses. I’ve done multiple cross-country moves myself, and honestly, I would’ve been better off renting my own truck and doing it as a family. I typically pay for movers to avoid this kind of headache — but this experience was anything but easy. Overall, I cannot recommend Local Movers. If anything, I’d only refer them to someone I genuinely dislike.

OK let's start off with when they left my house they tore my gate right out of the ground with their truck. When the 3 of them got out of the truck to see what they did they thought they could fix the fence with a tree branch. This was after they got out of their truck smelling like weed. When the company sent someone to repair the fence they tried to tell the new owner of the house that the gate never reached across my driveway. Kinda funny I lived there for 21 years and the gate never had a problem closing. Now I am living in my new house for 3 weeks and I remembered they never put my mattress in a plastic bag and now I have bed bugs. I have never had bed bugs until I used this moving company. Please people make sure this company does everything they should to keep your stuff safe. I am learning a very expensive mistake by using them. Did I mention they took off 40 min of time due to their guys thinking they were not movers anymore but fence repair men.

The logo says it all- 0 stress 100% satisfaction! Where were you guys when I moved from Illinois. The service is impeccable. Moved from a 2 bedroom apt to a 3 bedroom house in 3 hrs and 10 minutes. They even arrived early! Great communication, they were very careful with our furniture and even made suggestions on setting up the rooms. You guys are my movers from now on.

Please read. Reading this review could quite literally save your furniture from being stolen by this company. Not lost, actively stolen.

I used this company to move out of my apartment in Orlando In December last year. They mentioned they had their own storage warehouse that allowed a person to store their moved belongings for a monthly fee. When I found a job after college and moved into a new place, my belongings had only been stored there for 9 months and every monthly payment was paid and on time. (I mention this so you know that my belongings weren't there for very long and weren't abandoned. This wasn't an episode of storage wars!) On my move in date this month the movers came and unloaded almost everything. However, they did not have my couch or office chair.

The movers had to reach out to their manager as the movers were only instructed to unload one storage locker, which we assumed was where all of our belongings were. The manager didn't know where either my couch or chair were. The next day the manager called me informing me that they found my office chair but not my couch. When I inquired where it could be, the manager nonchalantly and so casually stated that one of his employees most likely just took it home.

I encourage you to reread that. The manager of a company with a storage unit whose job it is to safely store belongings actively allowed one of his employees to steal a couch that was apart of a roughly $1200 furniture set. The couch itself was around the $850 range. That was also purchased in 2018, with a higher purchasing power to the dollar meaning that a new couch in that model would undoubtedly cost more now. The couch was also in pristine condition with no wear and tear, burns, scratches, or stains. I mean it clearly must have been nice as it was stolen from me. As for the office chair, the manager stated he would reimburse me for a new one instead of delivering the old one (I assume it was cheaper than to pay one of his employees to drive 3-4 hours to me for a chair then 3-4 hours back).

As for the couch, I was reimbursed for that too, however the exact model that was stolen from me was no longer available. While I did find a close replacement, I still preferred my old one. Additionally, as I said before, my old couch was a furniture set that matched the end table and other table that came in the set better than this new one. Beyond the material value of the couch, my old one has sentimental value to me. It was the couch I had all throughout my years of college. It may sound silly, but that's just the truth.

The last frustration in this was the hours wasted and the payment for the move. Look, when you're paying somebody for any service, it is almost always about time or specialized skills. If you pay somebody to build a fence for you, you're paying them for their time. While this company did cover in full the replacement cost of my new couch and office chair, there was now an additional layer of frustration in the chaos of the move. Between going to furniture stores, looking at reviews, and assembling my new chair my mom and I had 6 hours taken from our lives over an error that was never our fault. You would think for this additional time we had to spend (and the fact that the company quite literally didn't even deliver everything) we would have gotten a discount on our move. Nope. We had to pay in full, even though the company did not deliver in full.

In summary, DON'T use this company. Now to be clear, the workers who actually do the moving are truly great people. In fact, I never even got a single apology from the manager or owner, but I got an apology from the movers themselves when it wasn't even their fault. However, the management and whoever is in control of the storage unit, authorizes literal theft. They allow furniture that isn't theirs to be stolen from their customers who are actively paying the company to safely store their belongings. I guess you don't have to worry about break ins when the thieving happens from inside...

MOVERS BEWARE!!! I have been in contact with this company with a moving issue. My sectional sofa is less than a year old as I purchased it about 8 months ago. So there was no reason for it to work at my apartment and then they move it to my house and then it's not working. I called and Ben KP came over to see why it wasn't working. He said he never unplugged anything so if it wasn't him it was the other unnamed person whom I've still not heard from. We came to the conclusion to call the furniture store to ask them was it plugged in a certain way. Unfortunately they said they'd have to come over to look at the sofa. I didn't want that because that would be a waste of a claim. I told the manager Roger and he said he'd be getting back to me but he hasn't. I've called him everyday and still nothing. I had to make a claim costing me $420 to find there were 2 outlets missing. So not only did they unplug my sectional, they stole 2 outlets that have cost me $420. I also have 2 bangs on my wall. My house is brand new, new construction. As a matter of fact we completed the blue and green tape walk through to make sure the construction and painting was perfect. So not only have they cost me $420 we now have construction damage inside the house. I went with them because I wanted to help out a smaller business because I like to support smaller businesses. I was going to have 2 men do it but I saw a small local business and figured I'd give them my business and they were more expensive but wanted to secure me so they said they'd match the price 2 men gave me which was $399. We paid them that plus a $120 tip which was $60 per mover. The only thing they had to move was 2 dressers, 2 night stands, my king sized bed, and my sectional sofa. I wish I didn't go against my husband's judgement because I keep trying to help small businesses but then I get the bad end of the deal. DO NOT GIVE THIS BUSINESS YOUR BUSINESS!!!! Go with a more reputable company....
