Reading over reviews of this place after having gone just last night (on ladies night) I have no idea what most of these people are complaining about, with few exceptions.
The blue stamp on your hand: yeah, kinda sucks how hard it seems to come off, my first time I let it wear off and it was gone in about 2 days, second time... nail polish remover, gone in a minute, it's not that big of a deal, and it's better that way if it faded off easily then you'd have to defend yourself you totally got stamped if it faded away in a few hours!
On crowdedness: at 9pm when I got there it was people on the dance floor and little else; by about 11 it was pretty much standing room only and time for me to get out while I could, the number of people going on a Thursday gets insane! If your goal is to find a "ladies night" loaded with all of the hottest ladies in central FL though isn't that a good thing?
On dress code: I came on a whim, wearing a nerdy T-shirt, white shorts, and New Balance sneakers... if I could get in and they told you you're not up to dress code, maybe socks+crocs and the PJ's you normally wear to Walmart isn't the best choice for going to a club!
On food: No food is served inside the place, but there is a "food truck" that was staffed by around 11, Update: I tried the Philly Cheesesteak and it was amazing, the girls there do a really good job, as evidenced by how many people line up for and are return customers for them!
On things to do: pool, beer, line dancing, and some sports on TV in the back. And yeah people were dancing together on the dance floor but that's only good up until maybe 10ish, after that it's gonna be too packed so unless you're just going to line dance, you gotta get there super early.
On staff: everyone was extremely friendly, I again have no idea what anyone is complaining about, I've never met more friendly staff anywhere in my life! The guys at the door had a good attitude, bartenders were super nice, and oh yeah I did in fact order A WATER (in a cup) and it was "no trouble at all" as the bartender said!
Only thing I can guess is something big must have changed recently because all the reviews bad mouthing this place are from 5-8 months ago... I enjoyed being at this place and was mesmerized watching the line dancing even though I've no idea how to join in myself. Might take some lessons and then head back to join in next time!
Update: got there early enough this past Thursday and was able to (try to) join in on a couple dances; the "dizzy" was a bit much for my first shot, the second dance explained after was a lot easier to follow... it would be helpful if it was possible to see the lady instructing the dances but the sea of people made it hard; a elevated stage for her perhaps could be...
Read moreI loved Cowboys and I will go back because I have had good times but at times Cowboys has been some of my worst experiences. I find the security to be pretty nice the bartenders (so far in my expierances) have been rude, inattentive and just all around unkind. Ive worked behind a bar for years and these tenders have just absolutely been horrible.
Personal horror experience: One year for my birthday my parents were coming to visit from Germany. I had gotten tickets via the radio for a concert at cowboys. I picked up my tired as heck parents, but they were ready to celebrate with me and see a little of the place I liked to hang out at times.
The parking lot was so jam packed that we were turned away. At the door we were refused entrance. I should have come earlier they said. It was too full.
Im not sorry, if you as a event place give away free tickets or tickets for people to win.... you dang well should honor that! If its getting to full but you know tickets are still out there with people who purposefully got tickets to make sure they can see the show and not get turned away, they should always be the ones to get in.
I was so disappointed, I tried to write to someone and talk to them about the situation. Never in my life have I gotten such an extremely unkind and rude response from a manager/owner....whatever or who ever it was.
It was a birthday I will never forget but for all the wrong reasons.
Response: Free concert or not, if you give out tickets and someone gets those, that should be honored. Some of us dont use social media so maybe that should have been addressed when people got the tickets, that they garuntee nothing. Yes you addressed it on Facebook message 2 years ago but its also the way at the moment I was treated and how a Manager response to clients on an issue was unprofessional.
There have been other issues through the years at events and just a regular night. I have had many good times at cowboys but I stand to what I said that I find planning of events needs to be better and managment response unprofessional and unkind. Thanks for the professional response on Google.
Just keep on rocking and keep cowboys going. Its great to have a fun country place in Orlando, Thank you for making that possible. Im sure on my visits back to america Ill come to...
Read moreWent here for a few years but it has changed and I will not go back. They threw us out within 10 minutes of arriving. My friend knocked her drink over, it had just been poured, but she knocked it over when grabbing it. The bartenders accused her of vomiting on the bar, but it wasn't true. They got rude with me and told us security had to come investigate us, so I tried to ask for my ID and credit card back because we just wanted to leave and go somewhere that won't treat us like we're criminals. Nobody would turn around and talk to me and give me my stuff back. I was speaking loud over the music and they accused me of yelling at them and they started cussing at me and called me bad words and said I had to leave, yet they wouldn't give me property back so I could. I wish I had called the police. They finally gave me my stuff back and we left. On the way out, I asked the little man at the door of there was a manager I could talk to, and he just lied in my face and told me I already spoke to the manager. He said the "bald man" I spoke to was the manager. The only problem is I never spoke to a man at all, just some older blonde bartenders that instigated this entire thing. Seems like they are only catering to college age kids now and if you don't look like you're in a fraternity, you're not welcome. They are only doing tik tok dances in there now too. The only line dances are just tik tok dances. I was literally in this place 10 minutes. They take your cover and look for any reason to kick you out, even if they have to make one up. I really think they didn't want us in there, they just let us come in and spend a little money and threw us out. In the ONE picture I took while I was there, security was watching us. I didn't conduct myself in any way that would attract attention or warrant being thrown out, but me and my friend are a little heavier, so I guess our money is no good here anymore. Don't waste your time on this place. Eventually you will have a bad experience like this. I would have never believed it before it...
