This is a cute and well organized store. They have lots of cute stuff but the selection of books are limited. Iām giving it 2 stars based on my experience today. I went in yesterday and purchased 2 books and 2 stickers ($43+), I got home and realized I had 1 of the books already on my TBR cart. I go back today to exchange (not return) and got some kindle accessories, (2popsockets and 1 kindle charm) I ended up spending almost $20 more. Now I initially had 2 popsockets and 2 charms trying to decide on 1 of each. There were so many cute little accessories, I decided to only get 1 charm and I left the other one on a tray at the counter. Well as Iām heading out the door the cashier stopped me and asked me if I was taking the other charm that I had in my hand. I said no but she reached for my bag to check it. I gave it to her because I was a little confused about what she was asking me for. It didnāt sit well with me after I left the store. I called back to the store and spoke to someone assuming it was the manager, she confirmed that she was speaking with the cashier and they see and know the other charm is the at the counter where I left it, they were making sure I got everything I paid for and didnāt leave anythingā¦.
Iām leaving this review here instead of going to social media because I know everyone makes mistakes, they know that they made a mistake, but hopefully this will help make the experience better for others going forward. I donāt think I will be going back to support them but I donāt want to prevent others from giving them a try. I feel this is a very cute spot. Hopefully they improve on customer experience, you never know who youāre interacting with and how they will impact your business. I was looking forward to future trips to support them but unfortunately this was my last one. Not to mention $60 on Amazon would get me 2 popsockets, a set of 9 kindle charms, a pack of 120 stickers, 3 books, and a case. Not to mention they bring it to you same dayā¦. Iām...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to preface this by saying my issues with my visit today were through no fault of the staff of this lovely store. I got to the store around 11:15, only 15 minutes after opening, and it was PACKED. Uncomfortably so. It's a small shop, and while the couches in the front are cute and the wall of trinkets and accessories is great, spreading the shelves of actual books out and making the sitting area less large would probably make it a more comfortable shopping experience. I would often turn around from looking at a section only to find someone very close behind me.
Because of the nature of this social-media sensation of a store, I was photographed and videotaped by multiple 'influencers' without my knowledge or consent. I would often look up and look directly into someone's camera. This made me uncomfortable, and I also saw some other shoppers uncomfortable with this as well. Maybe a sign asking people to not film other patrons would be helpful, but this is not the fault of the bookstore and more the fault of social...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am not a romance book person, so this store is not for me, but I went to just see what it was about.
The store was lively and welcoming and really not a vibe I was expecting in a book store (in a good way) I picked up a book that was recommended to me and multiple people in the store talked to me about how they loved it as well. I am pretty sure they do events or book clubs and I would put money on it being a welcoming group of (mostly femme) individuals.
The staff was very friendly and helpful but not nosey or pushy. They interacted with eachother with respect that shows they really got along well. This is not usually a deal breaker for me, but it does add to the ambiance.
Parking on the weekends can be tough but that is just par for the course of that whole area.
I would say 5 stars if you read romance, if you dont, it is a book store that sells that and gifts related to romance books... so you either will go in and embrace the subculture you are walking in on, or hate it. ...
