Red’s Piggly Wiggly — Local services in Oshkosh

Well… it’s sad to say, but since the new owner, I am very disappointed in my favorite store. I live close by and this is (or was) the only place I’d shop. Mark and Sue’s was the best. All the employees were knowledgeable and friendly. The store was always well stocked and kept up. Now…the employees are unprofessional. There are some that are very friendly and do their job very well. But when I’m walking through the store and I hear the employees talking loud and boisterous, having inappropriate business conversations and not addressing you when they walk by, I just feel like I need to be elsewhere. They are out of a lot of things that used to be on hand and the prices seem to have been jacked up. The hours of operation are until 9:00, but the deli closes an hour earlier, which does not make sense if you are just purchasing quick already made deli salads. I understand them not making anything NEW am hour prior to closing, but if it’s already made and waiting to be put in a container, why not sell it? I DON’T want to go to another store, and there is one a few blocks away, but I may have to expand my horizons to a bigger store and nix the “family friendly/but from the little guy”...

He: I y guys, just an update on things: I want to give a shout out to P.D. - you're a wonderful person and the perfect the perfect representative to be in customer service! People who have never worked customer service before don't realize what a demanding, sometimes thankless job it can be. You're just plain wonderful and every time I've seen you, you put a smile on my face, thank you!

Boy, these guys are great! After having such a poor experience at another Piggly Wiggly in Kewaunee, I've had such great experiences here.

First off they are hands down better than the Pic N' Save just up the road. To my knowledge they have the best prices of any grocery store I've been to. Obviously you'll save more money on some goods going to Family Dollar or the Dollar Tree but with those places (while great) don't have the kind of selection that the Pig has.

The staff there are very friendly and accommodating and the store is bright and clean. I always look forward to going there because when I leave I know I'll end up feeling better than I did when...

I need to use the electric cart for my shopping and as I rolled up to the service counter to get a sale flyers (which I keep forgetting your rack for your flyer) and just then I was locating the horn and I found it but when I beeped it one of your very young bagger girls turned and gave me a displeased look. I was taken aback by it and just to see if I saw what I thought I saw I beeped it again and sure enough she gave me another look of contempt and stepped away. My opinion is that she probably shouldn't be working with the public especially if dealing with old people bothers her. Further more when I came through the check out I didn't beep the horn but it was pretty clear by the final glare that she gave me for joking about that she was something, I would say angry maybe but I think she was looking at my race. I'm 66 I seen a lot.. know what...
