UPDATE: The week of July 21, 2025, the bar has new owners and management. Same great look same great feet with a few improvements. New Menu, New Chef and a great new team to serve you! This is a diamond in the rough so to speak! The atmosphere, decor and the Mahogany bar, the Hickory floor with wood pins and the back bar are amazing! You would think of this type of style from a bar near downtown that had some old brewery money put into back in the day. The people, the staff and their hospitality at the Jockey Club is absolutely awesome! This should be a destination for your night out! They also have a great selection of beers and whiskey! Additional Note: in the 1920's the Jockeys from the fairgrounds races would come and hangout at this bar!

This is THEE spot for the best fish fry around!!! The breading and how the fish is deep fried is perfect and super crunchy! I got the comb platter and everything was amazing. The drinks are strong too!! Don’t pass this place up!!

My daughter and I went early on a Friday night for the fish fry. Wasn't real busy, yet seemed understaffed. Fish fry was very good! I had the platter and my daughter had the large bluegill. We went specifically for the bluegill. Gentleman than waited on us was good, the female could work on her personality; was pretty short when waiting on us and seemed to have difficulty smiling at all. 3 stars given due to the service and how our evening ended. We waited quite some time for water and soda refills and then when the female finally came back, I just asked for our bill instead. Then after waiting another 25 minutes to have someone come back to the table, I decided to take the bill with my cash for the bill, including the tip to the bar as we didn't want to wait anymore. Walked in between other patrons at the bar rail so I could set it down right in front of the male bartender.

As we were walking out to the car, he called after us to say, "did you girls pay your bill?" I told him yes and then added that I put it right in front of him at the bar rail as he was pouring drinks for other customers. I received NO Thank You, Sorry, nothing. Are you kidding me!? No time to check on customers for drink refills or to come get the bill so we could leave, yet as we were walking out, you have time to run after us to ask us if we paid! Very insulting and very poor customer service!

I would suggest if you are going to serve food and be more than just a "bar," then you have adequate staff to be able to do so. I have worked in customer service for over 20 years, including bartending and serving, and let me tell you, good customer service is just as important as good food, if not more important! It also was not even that busy, so maybe find staff that can actually handle services or multi-task a bit better! Will not...

Service was horrible. Waitress acknowledged us when we came in. Sat at a table she didn't bring menus or take a drink order. Had a total fit when table next to ours wanted separate checks, 2 people. Kept saying I'll be right there. She had time to visit with people ar bar, made herself a drink, proceeded to continue visiting at bar. After over 1/2 hour we left. It was NOT busy. 1st time there we stop to check it out. Will...
