Misfits and Psychos on staff. I went to this place two days after knee replacement surgery. It was a grave error in judgement on my part. They advertise a 5 star rating..how??? They mishandled my leg, then denied me care and medication. There were 5 people in my room. Many older ladies that were asking for eye drops, medication and dressing changes for hours. The response from the angry staff "nurse" I'll get to you when I can!!! The women were fearful and quietly suffering. When they told me they didn't have my medication 8hrs. after my arrival I threatened to call 911. My medication came quickly after that. But they never got all of my meds. Then I tried to eat their food which gave me severe diahrea. Nothing was fresh, mostly packaged and chemical laden, with high fructose corn syrup. They punished me by refusing to turn the light off over my bed that night. The next morning it was still a fight to get my medication, any medication or assistance! I told them I was leaving. They responded with we'll see if the doctor will release you. I told them, you refuse me proper care or medication...Your food is making me sick and I got no rest with your staff yelling and partying last night. I said you will pack my meds and get the paperwork prepared now. I called my aid and told him to come get me. The other women and I began to ring for help in numbers. If one of us needed something, three of us would ring. That seemed to help get them coming within the hour. Make no mistake I came there to get help. I'm 64 and disabled, I just had my knee replaced and I have 21 stairs to my home. The conditions, the food and lack of qualified caring staff made me leave prematurely for my own health and safety. Just as I was leaving someone in the next room hot COVID. Beware the false advertising and charming...
Read moreFor anyone who is serious about rehab and about recovery, I highly recommend the Pacifica Nursing and Rehab Center. My husband spent 3 weeks there and made tremendous progress. This is a serious, dedicated rehab center that gets the job done. The combination of professional rehab attention, the positive uplifting atmosphere created by the staff and the serious attention given to each patient makes this an amazing facility. The rehab portion is handled by a qualified, dedicated staff with appropriate equipment. Carmen (PT) Dennis (OT) and Jane with speech therapy were in charge of my husband. They pushed him to be better with daily challenges. They covered strengthening skills setting new goals helping him to become mobile, stronger and more independent. The staff is amazing. The patients come into this rehab center with all kinds of ailments. The staff is attentive, professional and handle each patient with care, and with compassion. Unit coordinator Tet and Pamela keep everything under control. The nursing staff was wonderful - Marilyn, Alma, Rose, Venus, Jeff, Sam, Ellen, Deidre and so many others that all deserve so much gratitude. Each meal was carefully customized through a dietician. The food was great and the variety was fantastic. My husband made tremendous progress with his balance and walking ability. He continues to practice the skills he learned and is grateful for the opportunity he had to get the excellent care at the Pacifica Rehab Center. If you have any questions, my suggestion is to call Catherine who is the Social Services Coordinator....
Read moreI wasn’t really happy this time around. My mother had asked several times that she needed to get change. The nurse kept making like a buffing noise. Like if she didn’t want to do it but had to because I was there. Is it because my mom is a heavy set lady. It shouldn’t matter if they are heavy set or skinny you took this job because you are there to help. When my mom would ask something they would ignore her but when I said something in a bit of a higher voice they would say I know. Well if you know why didn’t you respond to my mother when she asked the question. This experience I had with the Asian/Pilipino lady (sorry not sure what nationality she was) but when I dropped off my mother back from her doctor appointment it was the same nurse who came out for her. She wanted everything easy for her instead of making it easy for my mother while getting out of the car. I immediately said no we are going to do it this way so my mom is not in a lot of pain. She did say something in her language to the guy nurse and he just looked at me. If only I knew what she said I would have responded back but I did say what did you say to make it seemed I knew what she said and all she could okay okay. I did seen if you were their nationality you were treated way nicer then for those who are not. You do have some wonderful nurses in your sight like Nurse D and I forgot the other nurse name but you need to check on...
