I was admitted on April of 2023 at Palestine Hospital and was treated rather rudely by some of the staff and the service by nurses and doctors was lacking and bordering dangerous. Some nurses wore plain clothes, not uniforms, and looked like they just got out of bed. I was given 2 blood transfusions and had to watch over everything that happened for my own safety, after catching their negligence.
I had to go to Palestine Regional Hospital once again on October of 2024 and I did not recognize the Hospital. Everything had changed... for the better. Everyone was respectful, congenial, professional, and all were in uniforms of some kind. The doctors I saw were highly educated and had wonderful bedside manners, as well as did the Nurses and Lab techs. I felt safe and truly taken care of by professionals this time. I could finally relax and feel safe. I have NEVER seen such a change and transition of a Medical Facility in my life as Palestine Hospital has done.
I saw new Doctors, new Nurses, new staff, and I must say... the hospital food was good. This was not just a cover up paint job on an old building, it was truly an upgrade on everything.
Higher up Staff came to my room and asked how I had been treated, how was the Doctors and Nurses attitudes and professionalism? Did I have any complaints at all? They truly showed me that they cared about me and the rest of their patients.
Honestly, I would put Palestine's Hospital now right up there in ratings with the Larger Hospitals in the Woodlands like St. Luke's, Herman Hospital, Methodist Hospital and Conroe Regional Hospital. They definitely outshine CHI St. Luke's Hospital in Lufkin. I got a Staff Infection in that Hospital requiring a 3 week stay, as well as 2 Doctor's and an Anesthesiologist's negligence almost killed me twice during procedures.
It is a horrible thing to have to fight for your life with your illness... and, to have to fight with the Doctors and staff at a hospital at the same time to be able to stay alive. Any and all hospitals should make you feel safe, and you should be able to rest in their capable hands, not be on guard through the entire stay.
I highly recommend Palestine Regional Medical...
Read moreAbsolutely not. Bottom line up front: my wife is currently in Tyler's Mother Francis with an extreme kidney infection, UTI, and blood infection while 22 weeks with twins because these people are incompetent. Continue for the story:
These people couldn't even recognize TEXTBOOK kidney infection symptoms even after I, an EMT, mentioned it. I knew from the start it was kidney because of the location coupled with the UTI findings. They ignored the kidneys, did no test on them, and wrote it off as a UTI. Mind you, this was after the urinalysis came back negative. Later, they say there's a little infection in the bladder. A LITTLE INFECTION doesn't cause debilitating pain like this. So which is it? You can't perform a urinalysis or you can't comprehend the excruciating symptoms coupled with some bacteria in the bladder (no UTI symptoms) means it came from, oh I don't know, the kidneys?! They put her on nitrofurantoin which acts purely on the bladder, does nothing for the kidneys, and suppresses immune like every other antibiotic. For 2 weeks, the kidneys were allowed to fester unabated because of this. She goes in with the same symptoms, they run more tests and yep! She has a kidney infection and they say it's what she had the first time (these were day nurses this time). PLUS she now has a full blown UTI AAAAND a blood infection WHILE PREGNANT. I knew it, I told them, they completely dismissed it, and now look where we are. These babies are in jeopardy because nurses and doctors couldn't recognize textbook kidney symptoms. I got her out of that hospital the first chance I got and drove her to Mother Francis in Tyler which had a good reputation according to my peers in the area. This is simply unacceptable. My wife and unborn children could die because of this insane level of...

Waiting for husband’s health insurance to kick in because he transferred jobs but when you’re sick you’re sick what do you do wouldn’t send my worst enemy to that facility being new to the area I didn’t know will never make the same mistake there were a couple gals in there that were very kind to me and tried to keep me calm while being treated so terribly I got up and left with blood pressure still elevated and severe pain thank you to the two nurses very much however if I were anyone I would never go to that facility treatment is less than acceptable I bet if I had insurance maybe I would’ve been treated better however it is unlikely I do not like the implication of being a drug addict you don’t have to say it to imply it so thumbs down oh and by the way dont use narcotic pain meds as im sure they found out by my blood draw!!!!!
