Rip Off Liars!! Jenson was once good. Now just like every other auto shop ripping you off. My wifeās car had a parking brake issue in the actuators. Was told by āDaveā they couldnāt just replace the actuator they had to replace the caliper as well. Since they then had to change the caliper they might as well replace the brake pads and rotors while they were right there as they would āsoonā need it. Ok. I asked about refinishing rotors and he said no one does that anymore which was a lie, but ok. He then proceeded to tell me my oil was dirty and that needed replaced which was a 100% lie as I just got it done less than two weeks prior elsewhere but just didnāt update the sticker. The next day comes along and they claim the aftermarket OEM parts they bought to fix didnāt work and would need to get FORD parts. (Not sure what they bought the first time or used which is kind of scary.) I ask how do you know it was the actuator if they new ones didnāt work? Manager Orlando now comes in says he know the original ones were bad because they were burnt up. I say OK let me see them. They say you canāt see the old parts or have them back because we threw them away already. Pretty sure this was lie number 3 as I could hear him yell at a tech when the shop door closed. He says he will give me a deal on my $1700 bill for the inconvenience. The next day comes and āFordā parts come in. They still donāt work and claim the computer needs to be calibrated to the new ford parts which should be the same as the original ones. So they claim they need to bring a ford programmer in because their SnapTool programmer doesnāt work on Fords. This is a 2017 Edge not some exotic foreign car. I mention they are a tire and brake shop and maybe I should just take it Ford next time. Complete lies the entire way and then charged me to reprogram the computer that they messed up by trying to install used or ādefectiveā parts. There was no deal for the inconvenience either as the bill came in higher than I ever authorized and included an estimate which matched exactly what I was billed plus some. Will never go back here not because of the price because they just weren't honest. The Jensen Family should be ashamed that they let their business...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst, I would like to say that I will never trust anyone at a Jensen again. Here is where my problems began:
I took my car in for a routine oil change. When I went to pick it up, they gave me the whole list of things that could potentially be an issue. My dad is a mechanic, so I really don't take those lists seriously, but I listened and went on my way. I started my car to leave and it started shaking. Since they do a complimentary tire rotation, I thought maybe that was the issue. I drove the car around the building and parked because something was clearly wrong. The manager came out to look and said that they didn't tighten the lug-nuts on one tire, fixed it and I started backing out. The car still had problems so he popped the hood. He said that they didn't hook up the vacuum hoses properly so that just HAD to be the problem. After that did not help, he took it in and put it on the lift. Thirty minutes later, he came out with the news that my transmission was shot, and gave me a $2,000 quote to fix it.
It's one thing for a transmission to go out. It's another thing for a transmission to go out during a routine oil change. It's a whole other thing for them to completely lie and try to send me on my way without me noticing it. I clearly did not trust them anymore so I decided to take my chances by driving it home. It broke down less than a mile down the road. Even with the towing charges and the cost to replace the transmission elsewhere, we still came in less than the $2,000 that Jensen quoted.
The mechanic that did fix the transmission (they were absolutely great, unlike Jensen) said that they had clearly done something to cause the transmission to explode. It was the worst that they had ever seen a transmission in years (and they specialize in transmissions).
During this same experience, they told me that I should replace the struts and shocks because they were REALLY bad. I had replaced them less than three months prior. Clearly they were just trying to get money. It's funny though, because even though the transmission clearly needed to be replaced by this point, it was not on their ridiculously long list of potential problems.
I would absolutely never trust a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrlando and his team at the 96 and Hwy 370 were my angels this weekend. I had an appointment to get my brakes replaced this Monday with the shop I use. It was the soonest they could get it in. However, Friday morning, panic set in as my van started to make that horrible grinding noise. I tried calling other local shops and even went to the Honda dealership to see if they could get me in. Everyone was busy. I gave up hope until I saw all of these reviews for this Jensen Tire. I called and spoke to the manager Orlando explaining everything. He graciously invited me to bring my van in to have a look at it right away. This was a Saturday when they are super busy. Amazing!!! I showed up and he personally took the time to explain that not all of my brakes needed to be done as previously mentioned by Honda. I did have to get the front brakes and rotors replaced but they were able to get it all done in an hour. The price was honestly very comparable to other places and depending on your schedule, my time is very limited and worth the few extra dollars to not have to pay for a sitter. They have wonderful hours opening at 7am until 6pm, same with Saturday except closing at 5pm. This is a wonderful, well ran, honest establishment. Incredibly hard to come by. Thank you Orlando and Jensen Tire for saving my...
