I took a very special necklace and pendant to the gentleman. The necklace needed a small repair. I left it with him for a couple days over a week. I had to call the shop to ask if it had been fixed and if it was ready to be picked up. I was told that they had tried to call me for a couple days but my phone wasn't ringing through. Which they are the only ones I've ever heard say that as long as I've had this same phone and phone company. So I went to pick it up. I opened the little baggie and poured it out into my hand and right off I could tell it looked completely different then it had when I dropped it off. He had cleaned it but I don't believe that that was the only reason why it looked different. Now, I hardly had been wearing it since it needed repair but I've owned the piece for more then 10 years and I know that it looked different. The pendant seemed to be thinner and the chain itself didn't look like the same chain anymore. I guess I've learned my lesson. There's nothing I can do about it cause I have no proof of what it looked like before I left it with him. But here's a heads up to anyone that must use ANY jeweler, DON'T LEAVE THE PIECE WITH THEM. Have them order the piece and when it comes in then take your item to the shop and stay there and watch while it's fixed. Take pics of before and after. Make sure dates are on the pics and if you can get an Appraisal from another company before and after and compare the results. I took my engagement ring in to have the prongs redone because over the years they were starting to wear down. It took 4 weeks to get the call to come pick it up. Upon observation the prongs were not the same on any of the sides and one of the prongs had a soldering hole in the prong. I asked for it to be fixed right. The jeweler said it would be about 2 weeks. Another 4 weeks went by and I got the call to come pick up my ring. I was in a hurry on my lunch and stopped in to get it. I paid $106 and once I got to work and inspected it I noticed that nothing was fixed and the soldering hole was still there. I will not do business there again. I’m not happy with paying $100 for something that I will not wear. Now to take it elsewhere to be fixed...
