Do not hesitate to pull in to Frank’s Donuts for a sweet special treat! This legendary Mom and Pop cornerstore hole in the wall type donut shop manages to produce THE BEST freshest fluffiest well risen tastiest donuts in all of Kentucky. Some donut places have cloyingly sweet frostings and fillings but not Franks. They do a swell job of balancing a light tanginess with the donut and fillings sweetness! We tried the apple cinnamon filled bearclaw, the apple fritter, the creamcheese filled, the blueberry cake donut, the custard filled chocolate covered longjohns, and pink and purple iced sprinkle topped donuts. We would have liked a maple glazed custard longjohn as well but they were out and they gave a blueberry cake donut on the house to make up for it. Stellar friendly fast service! They all tasted better than spauldings and had not a single donut bite left undercooked or uneaten. If you are passing thru Paris town in Kentucky be sure to stop in early before they close at noon. There is a walkup window to order from and they have a couple of their own parking stalls on site. We got seven special donuts for about five bucks place in a pastry box. If you are spending less than 3 dollars, please bring cash, but otherwise they do take plastic. They also have other locations in Kentucky which we’ll be sure to try next time. Be sure to get more than just one of the bearclaws and apple fritters and cream cheese filled glazed donuts as they were delicious gems! Frank’s Donuts is worth...
Read moreThe doughnuts here are some of the best I've ever tasted, obviously they know their stuff when it comes to creating early morning confections. On this particular day they happened to open 30 minutes late (5 am rather than 4:30 am ) which is very understandable considering the poor weather plaguing the area (ice and snow) but worth mentioning. The coffee is STRONG but respectable, those whom like their java on the lighter side may wish to pass it up. (The extra wait time is what really kept me from giving 5 stars, not that I minded today, but if I were in a rush this could have made for a mildly grumpy morning). Staff was very kind and helpful as well. Overall I'm vary satisfied and happy to report it was well worth...
Read moreRan in towards the tail end of their day in case they still had some donuts- I was in Paris for work and wanted to bring back a treat for the office. Everyone inside was super friendly and they still had just enough for a dozen to go. You couldn't tell at all the donuts might have been made 6 or 8 hours ago. The glazed donut I had MELTED in my mouth and was super light and sweet, not heavy or bready at all. Everyone enjoyed them! Also, I maintain that dollar for dollar donuts are really one, still, of the cheapest treats you can buy. 9.50 for 12 donuts I think is super reasonable. I mean, it costs 7 dollars for a latte now because of the price hikes. Perspective is everything. I can't wait to come...
