Going on 3 years at The Links Of Parkville. I love this community and the people. Iām not here to belittle anyone from management at these apartment complex. I care about my reputation as of March 02, 2020 during the Covid-19 I was effect by hours reduced and fortunate around the 13th I was 100% laid off. Iām not going to lie beat around the bush three months I was struggling with depression Iām not using as no excuse. Not once everything I told them and work with on a PROMISSORY NOTE I did try to meet maybe I was $50-$100 short on what we agreed I pay still I paid grave amount. No one perfect in this small cruel world. We all going meet a fall in life Iām not saying The Links did not help me. They only help by giving you time but really it wasnāt that much thinking about it. Late fees and the excessive accumulation of fees that goes with it. From January to February I been trying to catch up my past due. I have a one bedroom one bath basement apartment for $642 +$35 sewer and water so $677 a month. My point is I made a agreement way back in January and February so wouldnāt get evicted. Hours was reduced middle of February thru me laid off fully 13th or March. I have proof of two Promissory Note agreement. My last agreement payment would of been 15th of March. They didnāt call tenants who was behind and maybe in extreme danger of eviction during the month of March when the Covid-19 effect whole Country. They sent out emails and letter to tenants that wasnāt late that could get help. Since I assume and trust my Apartment management team to understand the crisis. I was told she ā I tried to help and since you were late the entire year we need full payment. They trying to make me look like I donāt pay rent. Listen guys whoever read this. From February before all this Covid 19 I owed $1,057 I guess I had two pay checks coming in March before Covid-19 would of brought at least good standing maybe $50-$100 owed. Hey, itās life no one not perfect makes over 15,000 a year. On top of it I still have child support. I never lied about not paying rent. I donāt give up when you limited on resources and try to keep yourself from not going to jail for non-child support payment. Lmao! Funny how they only care about their job security. I had three resources to help me with my situation St. Therese DePaul and Salvation Army was going to help until they both call me and said they felt uncomfortable how the Links of Parkville responding on them helping me. $400, $500, and my unemployment. They said no we need full $2257 from March until now. Oh donāt forget about May and not to long ago I check my email I notice they say will electronic process my eviction thru the court and they resume beginning of May. Like I said whom ever reading this I take ownership for my actions. I was not aware that this pandemic would effect me the way it did. Now how my apartment management look at make me feel Iām worthless and I donāt try or take an effort. I never been so belittle Iām a single parent. All I can do is hustle and try. I just feel so betrayed and disrespect by my own community management team. I thought we supposed to be together and work together as community how can we prevent hard working citizens from homelessness. We all losing our minds and canāt work to provide relay on unemployment benefits some of do not get income return. This not an excuse this the truth. If I get serve with eviction and Im not this person. I know there some non legal that work here. I can be that guy... we see how God plays this. I letting him...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Links was one of the few places that would work with me when moving to Missouri from out of state. They helped me figure out the type of unit Iād be a good fit for as well as some basics in terms of utilities, internet, and information on the area. This was back in November of 2021, when Mayra (rest her soul) was in the office. Mayraās tragic passing was truly a loss for the staff but also the tenants. She always would greet me whenever Iād be out and about and never failed to remember a nameā¦. The (now former) manager, Daysse, was really getting things moving in a positive direction for the community. She was a dependable point of contact for issues stemming from maintenance questions to safety and security concerns. Daysse was someone who clearly cared a great deal for the people living and working here. And she will be terribly missed. Aside from the staff, what I can say with certainty is that anyplace you live will be āwhat you make of itā. There are an abundance of ābad applesā in the community: those who blatantly commit acts of violence against others (especially amongst the kids) to disrespect neighbors who enjoy loud music and leaving trash festeringā¦. Luckily The Links, as a whole, is actively tackling many of these issues, and I do understand they take time. As much as many people love blaming the office for all their problems, many of these problems can easily be resolved simply by being neighborly. By simply respecting your community and its amenities and, however hard it may be, by going out and saying, āhelloā to your neighbors. The stairwell we live in, for example, is pretty great because we all know each others names and the names of our family members and because of this most basic amount of respect, we tend to look out for each otherā¦. So take that for what itās worthā¦.
This new management - we will see. They very abruptly replaced our property manager and assistant manager just last week, so no real feelings one way or another about the new staff. I do hope and pray they continue working with similar levels of drive and affection for the community that Daysse...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to be a transparent as possible. This is easily one of the worst complexes you can rent at. Upon my initial move in I was told the unit would be cleaned but once getting into my unit there was dried paint on the tile in multiple areas as well as marks on the walls. & the underside of the cabinets in the kitchen were absolutely disgusting. Also within my first week I had multiple outlets stop working & causing shorts throughout my apartment. Mind you this is within the first week. As I continue to live here my kitchen ceiling collapse from water leaking/damage. Upon maintentence leaving to resolve the leak. My kitchen was left a complete mess. & a hole in my ceiling was left for nearly 3 weeks. As I am writing this I had recently found mold growing in one of my kitchen cabinets. As well as I just had a water leak the cause the front door area of my apartment to be soaked & flooded. Once again my apartment was left in dismay in both the kitchen & living room for an extended period of time. I am now dealing with the same leak again & have yet to have maintence come resolve the issue which is going on 4 days now. Mind you my kitchen is still torn up from the prior maintenance call regarding the same issue. I shared my experience in hopes of saving people from the sheer lack of consideration this complex has. Lastly goodluck trying to communicate with the maintence guys. Over all my calls & issues I havenāt had a single one that could speak English. I hope this...
