The person there could respond please. 1year later. I also take guitar lessons here now with bernie the guitar teacher here. He is a very good and nice guitar teacher. I usually write songs with him while I am here. Mostly big shreddy solo like songs, I have been having lessons for little over 7 months since my mom saw the cheap lesson prices. I have had lots of repairs they are always cheap. Guitar lessons here are the best ever so fun. I wish I had extra time for my guitar lessons? Every person who works here is pretty nice. I've never had any drama with the people who work here. Already bought a alto saxophone for band class almost a year ago? It was pretty cheap only around $500 Goodby best...
Read moreWe dropped a flute off here two weeks ago for repair/cleaning. We pointed out what needed repaired. They said it would take about a week turnaround time. OK sounds good, granted that they do take the instruments off-site to someone to do this type of work. A week later, we finally get a call and they tell us they finally looked at the flute and told us how much it would be. $140 + tax, OK fine sounds great.
Another week goes by, two weeks coming up so I call them the day before two weeks, they haven't heard anything and couldn't tell me when it would be done. They say the person doing the work is really backed up. OK.
Get a call two days later, around 3PM Saturday. They tell me they picked up the flute this morning and then said "sorry it is so late in the day". OK I am going to pick this thing up because a child is waiting for it for band class. Pick it up, pay the $150. Get it home. This thing looks like it was barely touched. It was NOT clean. There were even lip marks on the lip plate which means either it wasn't clean or this person put their lips all over it after "cleaning" it. The silver under the keys was also untouched. One of the corks we pointed out being loose when dropping it off was still loose and not fixed. Also now some dark gunk has appeared in the case stuck in the felt that was not there before. So we basically wait two weeks to pay $150 for a cap that costs less than $10 online and that is it.
I know they send them off-site for repair, but it seems like they aren't even bothering to check the work is being done that we paid for to be done before handing it back off to...
Read moreThey're pretty pricey and the guy at the counter was not very knowledgeable about music. He didn't know how many strings were on a violin, which was frustrating. He tried to sell me an expensive set ($30) when I asked for the cheapest set they had. I needed a starter set for a friend who just started playing and the strings he was trying to sell me were half the price online. The cashier seemed indifferent when I told him that and then seemed upset when I spotted a cheaper set by the register and asked to purchase those instead ($15). As a musician, I'm willing to pay top dollar for quality. And I prefer to shop locally, not on Amazon. But when I mentioned that, he kind of scoffed and asked why. I explained that I prefer to support local businesses and real people and his reaction was kind of negative. I got the strings I needed after some awkwardness but I think I'll find somewhere else to go moving forward. When I walk into a music store, I expect to be greeted by folks who want to talk about.. oh, I dunno.. makin' music? Not just uneducated employees who want to get me in and out of the store as fast as possible with...
