I can't believe how lucky I was in discovering this place. Upon entering, the atmosphere was the first thing that jumped out at me. Both my dining companion and I remarked on it before we even sat down. The table layout is perfect to my way of the thinking. Then there's the color scheme, red and black--nice.
The next thing that got my attention was the waitstaff. Two (young) woman handled the entire room by themselves (with a little help from the owner, but more on that later) and they never missed a beat. Not once did we have to wait for anything. It was like they had ESP. Every time I wanted to catch their attention, BOOM, one of 'em would look my way. This was a long way of saying the were, great, professional, and utterly charming.
I can't give short shift to the food. It's what prompted me to write this review. We sampled the menu and had a few appetizers in lieu of a full dinner. They were all some of the best food I've had out in a very long time. We plan to go back soon to have the full dinner experience. Can't wait.
Lastly, but certainly not least, the owner. Gracious, proud of his establishment (as he should be), pleasant, and an all around nice guy. He worked the room like the pro that he is.
I know this review sounds like the owner wrote it himself. But I assure you I am a real customer. It's just that I was blown away by every aspect of the place.
To quote a general from long ago: I shall return!
P.S. A shout out to the bartender. He sure makes...
Read moreThis building is like a diamond in the rough filled with so many treasures, many possibly even beyond your wildest dreams. We discovered this place in summer of 2019. Antiquing/thrifting is a hobby and this place has everything to quench the deal-finder’s thirst. We found ourselves returning every couple months and watching the place transform into just a few antique/used furniture businesses, into an eclectic assortment of shops with something neat around every turn. They just opened a beautiful food hall with delicious Sicilian pizza baked in their mosaic stone ovens imported from Naples, an adorable coffee shop, gelato and candy shop and soon to come lounge with a full liquor license. (All info came from various personnel throughout the 4 floors of wonderful treasure hunting.) I haven’t been to the brewery next door yet but I hear it’s good stuff. Every trip to Mills 58 brings me joy. I love that there’s always something new to check out at each visit. The spaces are huge and easy to navigate. Social distancing was no issue here and everyone seemed to be following the safety guidelines...
Read moreI shopped at this vintage/collectible and antique store a few times. They have a huge selection of merchandise to look at from many different time periods and tastes. This is a co-op style shop with many different dealers. Prices vary from booth to booth; many items seem to be priced on the higher side compared to other similar co-op shops. I would definitely recommend shopping here. I would check their website or call for store hours, as I've been in the area and tried to go, but they were closed. **This store is located on the 2nd floor of an old factory building, so you have to climb the stairs as there is no available for individuals with...
