I was recommended Betein Market by a friend and shopped here for my first time the other day. I was pleasantly surprised at how meticulously organized everything was, and laid out in a way a first time shopper could find what they're looking for, even among the large variety this small shop offers. I got a few pantry staples - authentic items I have difficulty finding at a standard grocery, all at very reasonable prices. The gentleman behind the counter was not only helpful, he was kind and welcoming. I had the pleasure of witnessing an interaction he had with a customer, and how patiently he answered questions and helped this customer find what he needed and how to prepare it. When it was my turn at the counter, I was treated like a valued customer, with friendliness and hospitality. I will never purchase another middle eastern ingredient anywhere else! I visit this market sometimes, and buy some of necessary stuff there. However this is the second time, as they are selling expired good, which may harm or cause a problem. Some of the good don't have an expiration date even (where I believe by the law it should be). US Food control does skip this market, otherwise there should not be that kind of issue.
