Helpful Tips from a horrible experience. I saw an ad for the car on craigslist. They posted as a private seller instead of a dealer. I talked with Eric who was very helpful and nice. They said they would sell the car “as is” for $5000 instead of the $4900 they posted it for out the door and wouldn't hold true to their original offer. I test drove the car for 10-15 mins down grand, to the freeway and back and didn't notice anything weird with how it drove. My concern at the time was whether they took care of or even really paid attention to the cars. The tires were low (light on dashboard was on) the car was dirty inside and out, the speakers were blown and my favorite part is that the car didn't have a CD player in the car like they said it had in the ad and they weren't even aware of it until I pointed it out to them. Going against the red flags and bad feeling I had about the car, I went ahead and purchased it. On my drive home (20mins away) I noticed a very slight jerking when I would accelerate slowly; as you would at a green light, pulling around a corner or before getting onto a main road or pulling through an intersection. I took the car out later that night and it was fine again until I drove it a little longer; same issue. The next morning it drove fine until after about 30 mins of driving. I took the car to AAMCO (who have always been very honest with me and trusted) and they told me that it needed a new catalytic converter. Also, even though it was an automatic, it had a dual clutch that was slipping in the lower gears and would need to be replaced as well. Obviously, I took the car back to Saguaro and wanted a refund which they denied me. I wanted to talk with the manager who doesn't work on weekends and it took a while before they answered their phone. I didn't talk to them directly, of course, but they offered to fix the car if I would pay for half of the cost ($150-$200). I told them I shouldn't have to pay for it since they sold me a broken car that gave me trouble 10 mins after buying it and didn't want the car anymore and insisted on a refund. Of course the refund was out of the question so they called the manager (grandfather) and they agreed to fix it for free. Of course, they kept the car for 2 weeks to escape the penalties of the law. Two weeks for a 6-8 hour job. The catalytic converter is fine, but they never replaced the clutch because it was too expensive so their mechanic just tightened the bolts. It drives a little better now but still jerks when slowly accelerating. Now for the tips. 1: Don’t buy from this dealership in the first place. It’s a waste of time, money and energy; just another group of untrustworthy, unprofessional, disrespectful dealers who only want the profit. They’re more willing to go to court with you than to work with you. They told me to get an attorney after I told them that by law they need to refund my money. As for Eric, I want to feel bad for him because he seems like he’s just the messenger in this mess, but he’s old enough by now to not realize how many people get screwed over. I just hope he learns from his family’s “business” and makes his own path because his reputation is being ruined by it. 2) Go with your gut and don’t outsmart your common sense. 3) If you end up purchasing and decide to go to court (although the cars aren't as valuable as they sell them for) you can always go to a small claims court and tell them what happened and you can get up to $3000 back. The fee for the claim is $50. Something’s better than nothing. The law is that if they sell you a broken car or you have issues with it within 15 days/5000 miles (whichever comes first), they’re allowed 2 attempts to fix the car before they give you a refund, but that requirement becomes void if they don’t have a specific statement in 10pt bold font on the face of the contract that they make you sign (FYI- the statement isn't there). 4) Don’t take lightly. I’m an honest person who is very lenient with people and give people the benefit of the doubt, but there’s no doubt that this...
Read moreIn searching for a pre owned vehicle I came across a 2011 Subaru Impreza outback from this business. The pictures were available on Facebook Marketplace and appeared to show the car in great condition for having 130k plus miles on it. I spoke with the owner's son, Eric, through Facebook to set up a time to see the vehicle. When arriving for the first time I was told I couldn't test drive the car because it was having a wheel bearing fixed at a mechanic shop that's right next door to the car lot. Eric said his dad never informed him so he was unaware. I should of taken this as a warning but being excited to buy a car I unfortunately didn't. When the issue was fixed I came out again and test drove the vehicle. For the most part things felt good with the vehicle. A friend of mine accompanied me and we did notice a slight clanking noise coming from the driver side of the vehicle, what sounded like underneath. It was mainly when the car reached around 20mph but died down a little the faster it went. At the time I foolishly didn't think anything of it. I also foolishly didn't bring a mechanic to help inspect the vehicle. This was mainly because I didn't have anyone or a friend that was or is a mechanic that I could of brought. I ended up purchasing the vehicle for $5400. The day I brought the car home the clanking sound I initially heard was even louder and more prominent. I texted Eric to tell him about it. Long story short after multiple exchanges I brought the car in to have them look at it. They of course brought it to the mechanic right next door to them. It is of my belief that they use this mechanic to get their cars looked at and easily passed as ok to then sell. I say that because Eric eventually told me nothing was wrong with the vehicle based on this mechanic shop. I came back to pick up the vehicle and had Eric test drive the car with me. He said the noise must be from the low profile tires driving over the road. The road we were driving on wasn't rough in terrain to warrant the clanking noise. I brought the vehicle to a different mechanic shop and had it inspected. To my surprise there was a multitude of things wrong with the car. This is from a report I obtained on my first trip to that shop. It is included in the photos on this review. I once again texted Eric to inform him on what was found that his mechanic was completely oblivious to. At first Eric was very dissmissive of these findings even after sending him the report. He was trying to say pretty much any mechanic I take it to is going to try and rip me off. Eventually he agreed to have the vehicle looked at again. I sent him the exact report in the photos and told him if he can have his mechanic look at those same things. A couple days go by and I get an update from Eric saying the mechanic shop next to his business found nothing wrong with the vehicle. Part of me was not surprised cause at this point my belief is Eric and his father's business is a complete scam. I ended up speaking to the mechanic that inspected the vehicle. I asked if he had the car lifted to see the issues I brought to Eric's attention. The mechanic named Junior stated he never even had the car lifted and simply just looked at the struts to which he said were fine (which they aren't) . He stated Eric never told him of the other issues I wanted looked at. At this point I invested countless hours and Uber trips back and forth dropping off the vehicle to get what I believe was clear negligence on behalf of Eric and his so called mechanic. I recently went back to the mechanic shop that found the issues and was told I have a radiator leak and the oil leak was discovered to be coming from the two head gaskets. To fix the leak it's upwards of $4500. I'm sorry this review is long but I wanted to do my best to paint the picture of how big of a scam this business is. If you're in the market for a pre owned vehicle go else where. Also don't make the same mistakes I made and trust who you're...
Read moreI would not recommend this company to anyone. They were not truthful from the get go.
We saw a vehicle listed on Craigslist and called about it. We were told it was at the auto shop next door getting a part fixed on it. They told us to come on down and look at it and it would be finished by the time we got there. When we arrived it was not even in the shop. The vehicle needed new tires, had a chip on the side mirror, a automatic door that wasn't working, and a couple other things we would have to pay for so we got them to come down in price $400.
They said it would be finished in the auto shop the next day and we could come and get it. Eric told us that he promised he WOULD NOT sell it to anybody else! We ran the car fax on the vehicle (they do not provide) and found out the vehicle had 2 previous owners when they listed it was only 1.
The next day comes, I heard nothing and had to call and text all day just to stay on top of everything. We were told the shop didn't get it in.
Next day, I called first thing in the morning. We were told it would be in the shop by 2 and it would be finished in an hour. Eric said he'd get back to me and never did. My mom then stopped by to check since she was passing by the shop on her way home since we weren't getting anywhere on the phone.
They sold the vehicle out from underneath us. It was listed for $7900 and agreed to sell it to us for $7500. Eric told us his father sold it to someone else for $8200. So not only did they screw us. He screwed someone else and was unfair to them on the listing price. And they never once called me to let me know that they sold it to someone else. I had to find out from my mother as we were sitting around waiting to see when we could go pick up our new vehicle. I text them and called and got no answer or text back.
Don't waste your time or money on this dishonest family owned business. So many empty promises were given. Very disappointed, but glad we didn't spend the money on it for our...
