DG Market — Local services in Petersburg

As a resident of County Drive I just saved over 20 minutes of time by giving this place a try. I went in with reasonable expectations from seeing the physical size of the building and they were met. It is like a huge convenience store that has a lot more stuff. In my case, it had the groceries I wanted. It was also clean and not crowded. I suggest that anyone passing by this store on the way to Colonial Heights for groceries should consider going in to see what they have. It has a much bigger selection than a convenience store but it isn't large enough for a full supermarket excursion. I think it offers a lot of value for this location in the form of saved time, provided you have an idea of what it does and doesn't have. Worst store. This store claims to close at 10 pm! And the workers close at 9 pm! And they are always with attitudes if you don’t like working there then get another job bad attitude not making people even wanna go to that store and then they close a hour early who knows why they do that and they start screaming and saying stuff to get you to get out like what the heck is wrong with yall if you don’t like that job get another one. I went at 8:59 pm to go get medicine for sick family and that store was the closest and since it claims it closed at 10 I thought I was good but I get there and a lady screams at my girlfriend saying she only got one minute. I come here because it's convenient, but like all Dollar Generals it seems to be going downhill.

They made these fancy self checkouts and they are never on so people can use them. Why would you even make them? Now they have loads of boxes and crates set up there, as well as in the aisles.

Customer service is non-existent now. There used to be some great employees here, but I guess they moved on to better things. They had a line about 8 people long today, and the cashier was talking on her phone the entire time.
