I am extremely disappointed in how Anthropologie goes about to ensure customer loyalty and retention. Their customer service reps require a thorough lesson on how to listen with patience and address concerns of their patrons. I had purchased a coat online on Jan 9, 2022 for my sister's birthday and I was quite excited about the order. On Feb 3, with no shipment and the birthday event coming closer, I called in again and spoke to Shakeel who informed me that it should never take this long, and that my item is considered lost in transit or never picked up by the carrier. He opened a claim for my order and decided to process for refund. On Feb 23, I found a parcel by the door and it was the coat I had ordered on Jan 9, 2022. At this point, I felt I could have kept it as this was shipped to me in error, but I chose to be honest and reached out to customer service and informed them of the shipment. Instead of being grateful or rewarded for my honesty, I was punished. I was asked to pay for the item that was shipped to me in error or ship it back in my own cost. Those were the two options given to me. It is unacceptable that I have to burden the costs to return something no longer needed, and to impose undue hardship to return to a store instead. They ended up CHARGING ME for the coat on Feb 24, 2022 despite my written and verbal refusal not to do so! The consequences I received were absolutely preposterous and illegal. I have learned that loyalty and customer retention means nothing to Anthropologie and choosing honesty leads to punitive...
Read moreAbsolutely appalled at the lack of care for their customers. I ordered a pair of white Badgley Mischka heels for my wedding and was extremely disappointed to find a blue pair was sent to me. I went to return them for the correct ones, only to find the white was sold out. I contacted customer service and they gave me a coupon to spend more money.
I continued to go back and forth for a resolution with multiple customer service agents, mainly because they would disconnect the conversation. I was told to keep the shoes, and they’d be refunding me in full. I was told that the issue would be escalated and I would receive a response within 72 hours. It took two weeks to receive my refund, and a response that now they want the shoes back.
When I contacted customer service, again, regarding this email they told me I was previously told wrong information and that they would escalate my issue again and I’d hear from someone in 72 hours. I’m going to bet it’ll take another 2 weeks to hear something.
Our entire wedding registry WAS through here and a friend of ours went through the same issue when ordering something. I deleted our entire registry because I cannot in good faith allow our friends and family to deal with the same...
Read moreI would not recommend buying from Anthropologie online (or at all). You will have to experience Metropolitan Warehouse. Anthropologie partners with them for their shipping and returns. This company also has a 2 star rating. Poor customer service is being nice and due to Anthropologie working with Metropolitan Warehouse (that has no technology for tracking your return), you run the risk of not getting refunded for your return either. They come in unmarked trucks, have no paperwork for the pick-up and do not communicate with Anthropologie electronically or by phone to coordinate your pick-up. You will need to be at your home all day on their scheduled return pick-up date but they never showed up for us. They claimed they attempted to do the pick-up but this is inaccurate since we were home all day. When calling customer service, do not expect to be able to speak with anyone that can assist because the drivers have no technology to give real-time updates to customers service. Just ask yourself, why would Anthropologie partner with a company like this? As of now, we called Anthropologie to get the status of our credit but they have no information from Metropolitan Warehouse regarding the status...
