They have bulks herbs! Not a huge selection but I was expecting nada so this was a pleasant surprise. As a local Ayurvedic Practitioner/Herbalist it's good to know that I can get basics if I run out and need to fill an order asap. It was really easy to get a member(owner)ship, too --- I like that I can pay the equity overtime ($25 every quarter for 2 years), and cash out when I leave. Prices are on pay with most other specialty organic grocers, and the sales are often generous. I've shopped at co-ops in many different cities and the prices can become inaccessible. I think Mariposa does a good job at keeping things as reasonable as they can with what little purchasing power I imagine they have (think about the wholesale deals Whole Foods can get as a mega-coporation and be real when you look at M's prices!).

I love co-ops I don’t get to them enough. You can really find some great deals. This is in a nice older style building and much more of a neighborhood market. It’s got a nice small friendly feel to it. They’re a very nice Selection of produce some really great organic vegan and vegetarian products and we found some really good deals that bagels that were marked down half price grabbed some of those also a vegan cupcake along with some regular every day things that we use very nice people here.

Sold overpriced pita that grew mold after one day. All other items seem to be fine, yet really ruined the experience when items are overly priced yet become spoiled overnight.

I am filling this out on Google Maps because of Mariposa food co-op policies and procedures now if anyone knows any policy that is made must be made with consideration of all parties that partnership with them I am a member of Mariposa and I have never received no type of disrespect whatsoever from these customer service representativeā€˜s like this ever they are very scandalous and the height the identity when it comes to what and who they are when they’re in trouble when I call I’ll on an issue and a lot of people KeKe Wyatt and give them love and show them love and immaturity smack you in your face and talk behind your back and then when you go to address issues regarding the political problems in the store they don’t want to hear you got to say and then be a privacy is not a matter to them they don’t care about that they say they do but they don’t they say that people have raped and sexually harassed their customers while when you obtain documentation to mail you can’t see I identify any paperwork if you have a disability that limit you from seeing I have in sight to see what the pricing is sending you if there’s difficulties are such the experience what I experience of my shopping experience today was very bad and very wrong and very L professional as a team of members that assist with shopping and providing local and organic products are we won’t go to MOMs organic market 34 S. 11th St. they want to take moms are going to go to you know the world tell me mom is the best this place crazy writing center of everyone begging for money on the property but a bag everybody else to get off the property but then people that have spent money in the store then when they are wrong after the most times weeks years that use spent money in there and the bottom line don’t go hearing all this is been purposely because they are liars and then I use a law-enforcement to entrap people committing crimes that they have a committed and then they don’t have the type of video proof if you were to get caught in something in the store it will be very easy for making us write you up and said you did Sam’s customer reported it but knowing that they didn’t because he wasn’t there a round a present so I will be very careful and mindful when you go on his locations in stores even in around the city Philadelphia anywhere in the world now because you’re looking for reasons with this new world of Sacha matter of harassment airplane around this world like it’s fire in the fire going to be put up by somebody that’s right and so might able to take your rights of being a customer are the being just a patron it as your patron patron as in the store for sis is that you need and I have no way to ask me this is a very very bad storm so please know we’re going all right thank you because I am blind and I don’t like to be disrespected I don’t like to be returned to the right of being a customer and I don’t like to have false accusations well knowing that nothing happened with any customer that was happening there they say all the words like is like he says he said something but there’s no other prove aside from that no videos stating that this has happened today customer service members of our team members or management they are...

The customer service really needs help. Came up short a few cents on a purchase and the cashier made a huge scene, literally could have just given a 10% discount as a one time courtesy and my loyalty with them being the closest grocery store. Thankfully I live in a vibrant community with people who look out for each other and had help with a few cents from someone standing behind me. This is the worst experience for a ā€œco-opā€ , if you know what a co-op is then you will be disappointed. And beyond that, plainly put they simply are not cooperative in the slightest meaning of the word. Not to mention that they over charge on everything from a bag of rice to a can of beans. I never knew greed and co-op were synonyms! Smh. In serious need of reconstruction and reestablishment.

…… Editing because I just saw another review that makes sense as to why the cashier made a scene. Apparently they are being treated unfairly in the workplace which actually makes sense as she mentioned being penalized for being a few cents short. Heartbreaking. I hope this changes immediately because you can feel abuse from the top trickle into the customer service and showing up as aggression which is absolutely disappointing. Our community can do way...

Edit, 2022: Added one last star. Given that there is only one location, the coop is doing great. It is basically the only place in West Philadelphia where I mindful consumer can shop. I just wish there was more floor space so they could expand their offering. It is expensive, sure, but I learned to think of shopping here as a way to donate part of the cost to a good cause. If you only look at the cost alone, than you can find cheaper alternatives (but giving your money to a large corporation) Things have improved over the years, yet there seem to be something missing. Hard to pin point what it is, but when you compare Mariposa to another Coop like Weaver's way, then you see a huge gap. It's not just the variety of the offering, obviously the two stores are very different in size, is more about managerial choices and the use of available space. Given how West Philly is transforming, and that this is the only store of this kind, there is a lot of untouched potential (as of now, I'm not sure Mariposa would survive a new trader Joe's in this area,...
