Penda Hair Braiding — Local services in Philadelphia

I had to Pray 🙏🏽 I want this before sharing Because I don’t like to give negative views Because I’m a small business owner, but I did have to inform people of a business like this. I have called around See who do micros I have reached out to several braiding Businesses and everyone had the same price in the range of 180 to no more than 200 but I had to ask twice with this lady told me the most ridiculous price of $300 or $350 I had to ask twice because I had had to make sure I was here incorrectly also informed the lady that I have my own human here. Specially, the micros that I was getting only get Braided not even a half an inch which They tie Them Which I also informed her that I will be bringing my own human hair she said I know it’s still $300 or $350 now I don’t know 🤔🤷🏽‍♀️ if she Thought 💭 🤔 I was born at night, but I certainly wasn’t born last night 🤷🏽‍♀️ I never known for no braiding Salon 💇🏽‍♀️ Ever told me nor anyone else, especially them bringing their own hair being told that they charge $300 nor $350 for something that is really simple as those braids now as I stated the most I ever was told was $200 I been getting my hair done like that for many years the thought of small braids some may think that Micros it’s a lot of work, which is not because they have been finished longer than the knotless Braids that everyone is getting today because the micros That I inquired is a half an inch and most of them tie them in a Little knot 🪢 So it can look like a weave . Which I have experienced getting out of the salon way quicker than those getting knotless braids because they take longer Plus, they get them braided all way down so to be told that you bringing your own Human hair and being told that it’s $300 or $350 it’s totally outrageous and ridiculous. Specially I don’t even know if they even does...

Let me start by saying I’ve never wrote a review for any business good or bad but this business almost made me go back to my old self. So from the rip they lied & said they didn’t do touch ups but once my mom told them she got her hair done there all of a sudden they do, instead of lying they should have just said they don’t touch up work that isn’t their work, then I go to tell them what I wanted the moment I said my hair is short I could tell they didn’t want the service but had me sit down anyway, she started wit my edges I went to hold the braid not pull it just press down on it & that was her way to get me out her chair cause she said she wasn’t gonna go it if I hold it, I didn’t do anything different then what she or anyone else would have done ! NEVER AGAIN & I would t recommend them I’m sitting in someone else chair paying 40 dollars cheaper && I like them...

I love Penda! Penda Is a fast braider and she genuinely cares for her customers. I love my hair whenever she or Topi does it. However, there are a few unprofessional and disrespectful braidrers that braid in her store. The woman with the purple braids who shared in French that she doesn't like a client and the game of musical chairs that was played was inappropriate and hurtful. I hope that Penda starts evaluating who comes to help her because they truly impact the clients experience. As a French speaker a, it is disheartening to understand what is being said about you but not wanting to cause a confrontation. I have been going to Penda for years and I do not mind paying but penalizing me for my quality of hair /hair style is unfair. I pray this improves. And that the loyalty of your clients are...
