I WENT TO GET MY HAIR DONE ON 7/6/18. I got small waist length senagalese twist. I was charged $180.00 which was fine. AT THE TIME I WAS 9 MONTHS PREGNANT AND DUE 7/9/18. I sat for 6hrs. The lady doing my hair was pleasant however she had her 2 very very young children with her and had to tend to them. I tried my best to help her with her children so that my hair would be done correctly. I dealt with her kids pulling my hair, putting food in my hair, and her having to stop doing my hair so she could feed them and put the toddler to sleep. It got to a point where she even had to call her husband to pick up her daughter!!! I didn’t complain and after it was finished I even tipped her. That day I brought my mother and cousin and in total I paid well over $300.00 to get our hair done. A WEEK LATER MY BRAIDS BEGAN TO SLIP OUT. I GAVE BIRTH ON 7/10/18 AND COULD NOT RUN TO THE SHOP TO GET MY HAIR FIXED... TODAY IS 7/26/18 AND I AM BEING TOLD I HAVE TO PAY TO HET MY HAIR FIXED BECAUSE I DID NOT COME BACK WITHIN A WEEK OF GETTING IT DONE (again I gave birth 4days after getting it done)!!!! THE ENTIRE BACK OF MY HAIR HAS COME OUT, THE BRAIDS ARE DIFFERENT LENGTHS AND SIZES, THE MIDDLE OF MY HEAD IS DONE IN VERY LARGE UNEVEN SECTIONS, BRAIDS HAVE COME OUT IN THE FRONT!!!!!!!!! They have said my hair SHOULD NOT have come out yet THEY REFUSE to fix it free!!!!!!!! I’m disgusted and disappointed and I will be contacting the BBB to file a report! My cousin got large twist and they fixed her hair 1 week ago... FREE and offered 50% off her next service!!!
** to the “owner” lies, blasphemy, frolic, and fairytales! I got my hair done July 6th!!! I had my daughter July 10th.... my cousins hair was NOT a different story... she had LARGE twists and I have SMALL twists... it’s disgusting that I paid so much money for horrible work... I will post pictures! Your braider made large parts in the middle of my head where i could not see them... I have no reason to lie. The audacity of you to insinuate such is disrespectful and sad. I asked you ppl to FIX the problem areas... I have found a shop that is willing to fix YOUR CRAPPY work. You are a cash only shop because you don’t want the problems associated with displeased customers.... I should have read the negative reviews before spending so much money in...
Read moreI went to Baly to get my hair braided, and the experience was okay until I started asking questions about my hair. I asked for a side part because I like my hair to be parted on the side with my braids. I felt something wasn’t right when she was braiding my hair, so I asked the stylist whether she had put in a diagonal side part or a straight side part because I wanted a straight side part. Both the stylist and the woman sitting in the chair in front of her told me it was straight. She asked me if I wanted to see a mirror, and I told her no because I was trusting the process (which was a mistake). I even showed her a picture of how I wanted my part, and she said okay. I thought I could trust my stylist, but I was wrong.
She gave me a diagonal side part that I can't do anything with except keep my hair in a side-part hairstyle. You can’t even put the hair in a ponytail because everything is uneven and doesn’t look right. I paid $255 for a hairstyle that I can only style one way, and I’m really upset. I think she knew she had done my part wrong because she didn’t offer me a mirror to see the finished look before I left. I left thinking I could trust my stylist, but I was wrong again. When I got home and truly saw my hair, I called the salon. I was told to ask for a middle part next time.
I hate being an irate customer, and I still tried to show them respect, but there will not be a next time. I feel like when I questioned the part before my hair was finished, she did not listen or care about what I was asking for. It could have been fixed, but she did what she wanted to do and not what I asked for. My first experience was perfect; my second experience was a fail.
Update: I wasn’t gonna post the last pictures but this is how my braids looked after a couple weeks. The extra pieces of hair that was added for the boho look wasn’t blended properly and I have these pieces of hair sticking out of my braids. They look like I had them in for months. I could have kept my money and did...
Read moreI visited the salon not even two weeks ago to have medium knotless braids installed. I provided several pictures to my assigned braider as this is a style that I’ve had installed multiple times by more professional braiders. I explained that because of the thickness of my natural hair that it would not be necessary to add an excessive amount of braiding hair. Also, I requested that an excessive amount of braids not be added so as to not to result in overly full final result.
I am not happy with the results of my hair. The braids are not neat. Many of the braids in the rear of my head do not lay flat because of the way that my natural hair was braided in the beginning of the braid. My hair looks as if it was done several months ago, many of the braids are different sizes. Much of my natural hair was left out in the front (hairline).
My assigned braider was excessively rude and argumentative when I would ask questions and make comments regarding how I would like my hair done. I requested for my braids to be braided to the ends rather than leave several inches of unbraided hair at the bottom and was told “this is how we do it” and “I’ve been braiding hair for 22 years”.
If a customer is paying $200 of their hard earned money, I would think that their hair should be done the way they request and not how YOU do hair and if you cannot fulfill the accommodation do not accept their money. Knotless braids are a different skill set that not every braider can master and you should not use your customers as practice models. You should only assign braiders to those requesting knotless braids if the braider is a master at the skill. Your customer should not leave feeling at a loss to the sum of $200.
P.S. “baby hair” is not for everyone, just a suggestion, ask your customer if they want baby hair before leaving hair unbraided in the hairline area.
Needless to say, I will not...
