HOME DEPOT ON TATUM AND BELL. I've been doing my research on the net and found a refrigerator that they had advertised. Walked in the store and was in front of the appliance section when 2 employees stopped and asked if I needed help. Typically I don't need help but I said sure, I'm looking for a frigerator. The male turned away from me, faced the female employee and opened his arms and said "well you're in the appliance section" with a smirk on his face. After working 10hours in customer service the last thing I need is a jerk thinking he was funny!! He didn't know me and I found it tasteless so I turned to the girl that he was with, Jennifer was her name, and asked if there was someone that could help me that didn't have an attitude. She said she would help. She told me she normally doesn't work in that department but she still took the time to show me appliance options on the computer and we walked around trying to see if there was something comparable to what I was looking for. I GIVE HER FIVE STARS. She then introduced me to an employee named Mike who worked in the appliance department and he was helpful but unfortunately the item advertised wouldn't work dimension wise. I GIVE MIKE 5 STARS. So the next day I continued my search on the Internet and then I went to their competitor, Lowe's. They have more on display and they really took the time to help me. It's hard to imagine a white refrigerator when 90% displayed is stainless but they took a paper blind and held it up. Sounds silly but I could imagine it. I am not in a hurry to buy as I just want to replace my stainless with a white refrigerator. Needless to say, I will be ordering my frig from Lowes, it's between two and yes HD carries them as I did a price comparison when I got home but because of that jerk I will never step back into a Home Depot again. I shared my story with my co-workers and turns out a gal is looking for a new refrigerator as well but because of my experience she won't shop there.
I know people tend to share a negative over a positive experience but instead of speaking to the manager and wondering if that employee was ever spoken to, I'm using the power of the net. If this ever gets to Home Depot, hopefully they will share this with their employees and this.... Every person that walks thru your doors is why you cash your paycheck. We all work hard for our money, some harder than others. If you treat people with any sort of disrespect, you will not earn business from anyone who takes this review serious.
TO THE JERK WITH A SMIRK. Remember this, you don't know who that person is you're talking to and you could set someone off by simple words or a stupid smirk. It only takes a paperclip, a pen or a pencil to hurt someone pretty bad. So before you lend your pen out think about this... you weren't a smart ass, you were just an ass!!
Now it's time for a dishwasher, a new light fixture and gosh I need to replace that turf in the back yard. Guess where I will take my business??
Hope this...
Read moreSo we recently got a dog for my son and are getting him trained to be a service dog. Our trainer has used this location for a long time and has never had issues. This week alone she told us she's had at least 3 different experiences where employees have given her and her clients a hard time. Today it was our turn apparently... Our dog is a little over a year old. He is a miniature American shepherd corgi mix. Every time except our first visit and this visit I have brought paper towels AND a bag in case he's had an accident. Today I remember the paper towels and not the bag. It was sitting in my car... And... Of course... He had an accident... Right in front of an employee. I quickly pulled out my paper towels and began cleaning up the mess. She found out I didn't have a bag and said she'd go get one for us. I thought it was very kind... Then as she took our soiled paper towels and the bag, she instructed me to wash my hands right away and not touch anything! (I had adjusted my shirt with my non soiled clean up hand)
In the bathroom I again thanked her for her help and thought everything was good.. but then she came out of the bathroom and threatened that if we didn't walk immediately to aisle 3 and buy bags, she'd call a manager and report us. According to my son, she then made a "I'm watching you" gesture. I missed it.
We chose to leave. I called the manager on my way to the car and explained the situation. She was shocked at how we had been treated and said we should never have been treated that way.. that they have bags for that reason and dogs have accidents in the store all the time.
I don't think we will be back. I was actually going to buy a drill battery after our session today but after being threatened by the employee.. with my son and his service dog... I decided they didn't deserve my business. So beware... Not only does this location seem to lack the ability to adhere to home depots policy on allowing any dogs in, they seem particularly unkind to service dogs in training and their owners.
The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the manager I spoke to did apologize and said it should never have happened.
I have attached a photo to show our dog at a grocery store where service dogs are the only dogs allowed in..we got a better response from the employees here than at this home depot where supposedly all dogs...
Read moreHoly hell did I have the worst experience here when I tried to buy a refrigerator. My husband and I have been looking for a refrigerator for a year, since ours was really too small. We would oftentimes go into the store and look, and the sales guy, when he was around to help, kept telling us to wait for a sale. We finally decided to purchase around 4th of July. Though we tried buying at the store, they either didn't have sales people around, or the one sales person would be too busy to give us the time of day, so we bought the fridge online. The fridge was on back order but we finally received it Aug 29th. However, when I got home from work, my husband was concerned because the fridge was loud. I told him to give it a day and see how it goes and if we hate it, we can call Home Depot. My parents said they always had good luck with Home Depot and returns. Well, the next morning, the fridge was still super loud so we called Home Depot to make a return. However, when we called them, they informed us they would not return for Buyer's Remorse. I called back and someone else said they would return it, but I would have to work through the local store (this one). I went to the store later and again the appliance person would not even look at us so we went to talk to a manager. The manager brought his second manager helper out and both of them said our problem was that we bought online. They said they could help us, but I'd have to come back tomorrow. I should also note at this point they claimed my husband asked for the fridge to be repaired. When I said I didn't think so, they accused us of not being on the same page. They were certainly speaking down to me, not realizing that as the engineer in the house, I was making the decisions around appliances. The next day, I stayed home from work and called the store and got a nasty women. She ran me around again, at one point suggesting I bring the fridge by for a refund. Finally, after talking to many more people, they gave me my money back and came and got the fridge. Eventually, Home Depot did give us what we wanted, but we had to talk to a hell of a lot of people and got about 15 different stories in the process. I am disappointed in customer service and from now one, we only shop at Lowe's...
