To say that we were extremely disappointed in our stay at 505 Chickasaw Gap Way is an understatement. Our experience was that of disgust due to the lack of cleanliness of the rental.
The bath towels and sheets were dingy with blood and dirt stains. There were hairballs in our beds. The toilets bowls all had mold. One of the bathrooms had molded wood near the bathtub and a molded shower curtain. In addition, the floors throughout the rental were filthy, lacking a good wash and sanitation, as our white socks quickly became black. The couches have oily grease marks from excessive usage. The wooden walls were covered in dust and cobwebs. The blue carpet smells musty and dirty. The HVAC intake grill has dust build up, which makes me wonder when the last time the actual air filters were changed. Asthmatic family members experienced breathing issues. Drains were slow to drain. The unit also had a broken mirror, busted door jams, and filthy doors near the handles - all things that would be maintained if the unit was properly managed. We couldn’t wait to leave! Our dissatisfaction has us questioning if we will ever use Airbnb again for our large family vacations.
To mitigate our discomforts, we went to the store and purchased disinfecting bleach, laundry detergent, cleaning products and a new shower curtain. We washed towels in hot water with bleach and laundry soap. They came out of the laundry a crisp white instead of dingy beige.
With 14 people, two of them infants, and previously paid for excursions, we didn’t have the time to replan our accommodations and find a cleaner alternative. Demonstrated in the photos provided, the lack of care, maintenance, and sanitation of this rental is evident. We had planned this trip for months and expected a memorable time with our family. Our review of this unit will reflect our negative experience. For the amount of money paid ($1500 per night) and the highly rated reviews, this is not the experience that we expected to have. Read more505 Chickasaw. To start, never got door code until 1.5 hrs after check in, when spoke to the host, her response was "well what is 1.5 hrs of your time". Totally unprofessional. Missing bolt on toilet seat. Hot tub was old and falling apart and would not heat. Highest temp was 84 degrees. Jets dont all work. Broken items in kitchen. Windows havent been washed in a long time. Door knobs wobbly and not functioning properly. Trash pick up was a issue for house that supports 14 people. Parking is limited. Pool table was broke and had 1 stick with a tip on it. Foosball table was falling apart. Beautiful cabin but not being maintained properly. Great location not far from everything in Pigone Forge.
