I want to preface this review by saying we had an absolutely amazing stay. With that there are a few things that could make this place a 5 star in the future. The best part of this hotel is the 24 hour access to both the pool & hottub. My boyfriend and i originally booked a 3 night stay and ended up staying an extra two days just to use these amenities. The pool and hot tub were both clean however the jets could’ve been a bit more powerful. PLEASE DONT CHANGE THE HOURS KEEP IT 24 HOURS. I do strongly suggest the hotel have a time limit on the pool and hot tub like no kids after 10 or 11 pm because there was a few nights where it was nearly midnight with kids not even teens, still in the hot tub.
Breakfast was alright. The sausage was dry and not eatable. The biscuits were good but the gravy, was not good which was a little disappointing it’s very bland. They did have the regular cereal and yogurt, grits, oatmeal, bagels, toast, and waffles etc. did not like how inconvenient it was if you didn’t wanna eat in the dining room I had to ask for a to go plate cause they don’t allow you to take the plates but the to go plates are not even out! And what if I wanted to take cereal? No to go bowls either so definitely that needs to be changed considering the price of this hotel nightly is $150+. The to go option should be there without having to wait 20+ minutes for someone to be able to get it for me from the back. It’s self serve on the waffles as in you have to make it, which for the price of this hotel the waffles should be made and there should be pancakes and French toast and more fruit options. Overall breakfast is lacking in my opinion for the price nightly the breakfast needs to have more options for it be considered an “buffet” and better process for those that do not want to sit in the dining room.
We also got the chocolate strawberries and champagne delivered to our room, you have to request a day in advance so keep in mind. It was a supposed to be an extra $50 but they did not charge us. Which was nice as it’s not really worth more than $30. They put rose petals in our room as well with this which was sweet. Champagne was the dry corbel brand. The strawberries were not good, the chocolate was not quality. There is a candy shop within their parking area, I suggest they get the strawberries from there cause they were a lot better tasting than the hotel brand, packaging of the strawberries was professional in a cute box with the hotel logo. Employee’s were very sweet throughout our stay and they didn’t even make us switch rooms after extending our stay twice which was very appreciated.
We did not bring our dog this trip but They are dog friendly …for $40-$50 a night?? That’s crazy, steep a price at the least follow other hotels who have the pet fee as $15-$20. We would love to come back but the price per night plus the pet fee is just too much considering we don’t always have the option to not bring our dog.
The room was clean, updated, bathroom could’ve been a bit cleaner. There was a bug that came out of the bottom crevice in the shower when we turned the water on the first night, no other issues aside from that. It was overall quiet, we appreciated the hot cocoa, tea and coffee bar that was available all hours. They ran out of hot cocoa on one of our late night swims and the front desk was very nice about getting some. It was great to see that the hotel is doing their part in housing the bird in the front lobby, beautiful bird and it’s just touching that they allow him to be cared for there in the front.
Overall this is a great hotel but could use those few tweaks to be excellent. Location is in downtown pigeon forge. Really close to all the games and rides. I look forward to staying here in future and seeing progress, also if the hotel owner is reading this I would love to do another review if you guys give me a free night lol but seriously good place, hope it only gets better but not necessarily more expensive as I feel it’s already on...
Read moreWe arrived at around 7pm. We checked in, we were hungry and went to dinner. When we returned around 9pm, we inspected the room and found the linens on the bed were soiled with crumbs, hair and blood. Yes… some blood stains. I also noticed the floor wasn’t cleaned properly and there were no bath towels. I went down to the front desk ask asked for a new clean room and was told they were sold out and unable to switch the room. She never apologized…. Just seemed like it was a normal occurrence… offering for housekeeping to come up and change the bedding. (Edit to say a few days later I overheard another guest with the same complaint, while walking to the pool).
My kids and husband went down do the pool and I waited for the housekeeping staff to arrive. Jordan the housekeeping manager arrived in plain clothes, with Cora dressed in scrubs/uniform and both changed the bedding. They changed the mattress pad cover, sheets and even comforter (when I asked). They were kind, made small talk and exceeded my expectations on the bedding change. They told me there was a towel shortage and some housekeeping staffing issues and Apologized for having to come up (they both were on a 12 hour day). I appreciated the help.
I put the DND sign up all week. I carried my dirty towels out (for both pool and bath) and exchanged them at the front desk myself. A few times they didn’t have them, but sent them up. I didn’t have the room serviced at all. If they couldn’t clean it while it was vacant, I didn’t want people to while while full of my stuff.
The breakfast buffet was mediocre. It served its purpose but the staff was ill prepared on Thursday, with a huge volume of people checking in. No plates, no napkins, no juice, no forks and a line at the make your own waffle line, 8 people deep (takes 4-5 minutes per waffle). Seemed excessive and I’d rather leave and pay for breakfast… which I did on Friday. It left a lot of people frustrated and people struggled to find seats. Lots of people eating while standing and without silverware.
My son brought his light up football to play with in the pool. A group of 20 kids or more were playing with it a couple of nights in a row. One evening another guest launched it up into the waterfall. We notified the front desk, who notified maintenance… we were told it would be retrieved and delivered to our room. Three days of asking and no one got a ladder and attempted to retrieve it. Our final day we were told they would have to empty the pool to get it…. Which is not true. A ladder to the right side of the “waterfall” on the cement, could have easily removed it. We know exactly where it landed and you can see it. They still claim it’s not retrievable…. must mean that area is never cleaned as well. Let that sink in. We booked through IHG(Holiday Inn) and this is thier overflow resort…. I was told to contact IHG… that they couldn’t/wouldn’t assist me.
Cleanliness over-all of the hotel public areas…. A+. Hallways were clean and all areas where staff could clean were spotless. The elevator shaft where you look out to the parking lot had cob webs and everyone you entered the elevator it smelled as if something was burning. That made me nervous since working fire restoration. Something inbound to happen, they should have those serviced. This hotel is past its prime…. I’m sure it was banging in the 90’s.
Let’s also talk about the text messages….: I got a text message upon my arrival and several there after checking on my stay and also requesting to extend my stay… all calling me by different names . (Screenshot attached)
Overall it was a quiet stay. We stayed in 4435 at the end of the corridor and it was...
Read moreBooked 2 nights based on the price and advertising of being newly remodeled. Upon arrival, the lobby was very welcoming, nice, and clean. The clerk checking me in was very nice, helpful, and did a great job of explaining the location on amenities within the hotel. The room seemed clean upon check in and didn’t notice any red flags right off. It was about 11pm when we checked in and we had worked all day and just had a 3 hour commute so we basically checked in and went straight to sleep. The next morning when we got up, I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth when I noticed the bathroom had mold all around the mirror on the wall, and above the bathroom door. I immediately alerted guest services (around 7:30am) and she let me know to email her the pictures to the hotel and she would speak with her manager about the issue when she came in around 9am. She offered to move us rooms and get maintenance to look at this issue. She told me that housekeeping comes in at 9am also and they should have us another room available by 9:30am. While waiting for a new room, we went and had the hotel breakfast (very nice for continental breakfast) and went back to the room. We decided to go on to the pool and alerted the clerk that we would be at the pool and to just let us know when the room was ready and we would come move our things. At the pool, we immediately noticed that there were no towels available. We asked guest services for towels and were told they would alert housekeeping. After some time, I asked for towels again and was told they were in the dryer. We were at the pool for about an hour and a half and only 5 towels were brought out during that time. On our way back to our room from the pool, as I walked up to the counter to ask for an update on our room, the clerk said “hello (as if she was greeting a new guest), then “oh, I remember you.” Then let us know that the new room wasn’t ready yet but we were welcome to put our luggage on a luggage cart and our things wouldn’t be touched if we wanted to leave the hotel. After being in the room for a few minutes, we heard a knock at the door and the lady seemed shocked that we answered and commented “I’m sorry. I didn’t think you would be in here. I thought you left and your things were on the luggage cart.” She advised our room was ready, but maintenance was finishing up tightening up a loose toilet seat but we could go ahead and switch rooms at the front desk and our room would be ready by the time we got everything switched. After we entered our new room, which wasn’t until around 12:30pm, housekeeping came in without knocking to restock the shampoo in the shower. I immediately noticed that the new room had the same mold issue as our first room. I was so aggravated with the whole process that I just kept the room and stayed our 1 remaining night. When I checked out and returned the room keys the clerk asked how our stay was and I said “well, it was okay.” And she said “just okay? Well…. You’re good to go”.
We were also told that the manager came in, but immediately had to leave, so we were unable to speak with her.
Would recommend if you needed somewhere to stay in a pinch, but was overall dissatisfied with the service and cleanliness of...
