I had a three night reservation to the cabin ā€œHoney Bearā€ through Auntie Belham’s beginning on Feb 18. Due to an illness in the family I didn’t check in until the afternoon of the 19th. The cabin was very nice with a beautiful view from the covered deck and very well decorated in a mountain theme. However, the plumbing was questionable. When the toilet was flushed every drain in the house would make gurgling sounds. My trust of their business told me that maybe they had an ongoing problem but this was nothing serious. I later read in a visitor log book they had at the cabin that an earlier visitor had been concerned about the plumbing also. We enjoyed the evening out, came back and went to bed late which allowed us to sleep in the next morning. After the morning ritual which again sounded concerning with the gurgling plumbing we lounged around for a while. Then, the horror began as when we decided to take a shower and found that the shower was several inches deep in raw black sewage. In addition to that the other tub was also contaminated with the black sewage. I called the Auntie Belham’s office and described the problem. I was told that I would need to talk to the manager and that she would call me back. I waited an hour. I called back, again I was told that the manager was on the phone and would call me back. I waited about another hour. No call. By this time the decision was confirmed that we needed to get out of there and make other plans for our visit in the area. We packed up, I drove to the office. While traveling I received a text that my third night and only my third night charge had been refunded to my credit card. I was unaware of that text until I arrived at the office. I was immediately told with attitude that we were done with any negotiations towards compensation and that we were done. I was told that I should have been happy with the fact I was able to use the rest of the cabin. Apparently a restroom is not important to some people, but to me it is not only necessary but is a primary part of any residence. No apology, no phone call, no respect, no concern, no regrets. Nothing but attitude. These people had no concern whatsoever about our problem, the inconvenience that they had caused us, the fact that we had dealt with raw sewage in our cabin. Or, that our visit had been cut short due to their negligence of upkeep of the cabin. I would never recommend renting a cabin through Auntie Belham’s. I certainly wish this had never happened.

Trip 3-months in the making for Springbreak and was not disappointed. It was the BEST vacation yet we ever took and the cabin made it a safe stay, comfortable & enjoyable experience. The staff is extremely helpful and always ready and willing to answer all the questions you may have regarding your reservation. Xplorie is a great discount service for FREE tickets every night of your stay for tickets to attractions. Although the cabin is a little dusty and had to sweep & vacuum the floors once arrived all was good. We would have liked to use the gill but it's seen better days and due for replacement parts. The roads are freshly paved and in very good condition but can be very treacherous at these peaks because of the desired views so be extremely careful. As a result we preferred to stay in at night to avoid hazards and multiple road side construction projects. The hot tub is fully functional, bath was so relaxing, loved the privacy, cabin decor is delightful and view of the mountains is truly spectacular. Also, the fireplace is super convenient, the fridge was replaced just before our arrival so had to call for our confirmation email once our plane landed. We spent half of our time in the cabin and the other time sightseeing: the National Park at Cades Cove, Downtown Gatlinburg at Skylift Park, Village Shops & visited Dollywood which was a fantastic and on the Bucket List places to visit. Never seen any bears but was always on the look out... It was a much needed trip without our busy school & work schedules both could chill and just enjoy each others company. The mountains are our happy place to be and it was our pleasure being guests of Auntie Belham's Cabin Rentals. Thank you we will use these services again in the future.

We stayed in the Amazing Views cabin which had really great reviews. Sadly our experience was not what we expected. When we arrived there was an odd smell in the cabin and a puddle in front of the dishwasher. I called and someone came right out and said it was because the cleaners disrupted the cycle so the pan got overly full. That night there were some storms and we found a leak coming from a ceiling beam in the bathroom as well as a large amount of rain coming through the window seal. I called and they weren’t able to send anyone out until the next day due to the rain, so we put down towels to help prevent damage. A few nights later during another storm rain came in through the large glass windows in the main area. We had to put towels down along the entire wall. Again no one could come out at that time due to the storm. Then the CO2 alarms went off. After calling since it said 0ppm it meant that the alarm was faulty. We believe it was caused by the leak that was around the alarm the night before. Someone came out the next day but wasn’t able to fix it and said they would need to replace it. Some side notes: we could only get one of the 2 back doors open. The one we could open has a bad seal that allowed bugs in. The fridge made a really loud knocking noise on and off through the night. The cover on the hot tub was pretty beat up and needs replaced. Overall the appliance need replaced and updates need to be made to the bathroom (difficult to shower in for someone who is 6ft). Staff was responsive and nice. I don’t blame them for not being able to come out right away. However, it got to the point where we contemplated staying in a hotel with all the issues we encountered.

Our family get together this year we stayed at the mountain lookout cabin in Gatlinburg the first week of November. Firstly the views are amazing, the peak colors had passed but the front of the cabin had decking that overlooked the lower area and a great view of the mountains.||Positives =|1. The cabin was clean and check in process was super easy. We had 3 tween age kids and 3 couples so plenty of space for everyone. |2. Cabin was in an area you could have groceries delivered from instacart which was nice when needing things like TP, Soap, etc.|3. AC worked great|4. If like us and need that white noise to help sleep - there were 2 fans in one of the closets for us to use|5. Washer dryer worked great, there was even a Kcup coffee pot as well as a regular pot so we had our caffeine a priority for us :)||Cons = Or things to note - not bad just wasn't prepared for|- The bathrooms in each room do not have a vanity at all, so there is not really any where to set your stuff. The light over the vanity was also the fan so odd but we made it work. I would recommend if you have to use a mirror for getting ready to pack a travel one|- The bedrooms have EITHER a small 4 drawer dresser OR a closet not both; BUT the closets had 0 hangers so you really have to have packed some or you live out of your suitcase for the week. |- The walls are SUPER thin so you can hear everything in your cabin as well as the cabin nextdoor. Quiet time in the area is like 10 pm but at least 2 nights of our stay ppl were out making tons of noise until like 3-4 am so you can hear all of it inside.|- The bedroom my husband and I slept in, had the windows facing the house next to us which meant we kept the curtains pulled all the time however they are not light blocking so we had to hang a blanket up because the cabin next to ours had outdoor spotlights on all night which shined right on the bed. |- This is not someones home you are renting, so if you like to play games or puzzles etc. while at a standard AIRbnb etc. they don't have any of that. There was an arcade game (so loud and 0 volume options), fooseball table, and the theatre room.|- Theatre room could not be used as the projector was set so it's larger than the screen and there is 0 option to adjust |- Wifi is not great and even though TVs in each room there was rarely a time we could get the TV to work as they wouldn't connect to the internet. Mind you we didn't watch tv most of the time as we were out exploring but in evenings to wind down we tried.|- Railing on deck was wobbly so we kept kids away from it but otherwise if you are fine with wood creaking lol it could be relaxing sitting out there when neighbors were not loud||Overall Gatlinburg was great, so much to see and do, weather was warmer than planned and the cabin was a place to stay that worked for the large group just with things we didn't realize so we didn't plan accordingly. Would recommend just be mindful of...
