We rented the first time 5 years ago and they were wonderful to deal with, but was a great experience. We rented a jeep this weekend, was able to pick it up early, no problems. On the way back from Cherokee, the engine light came on. Mind you, we are up in the mountains with a 5 year old and 3 year old, its 97 degrees outside and no service. As soon as we could, we took it back, we didnt went to continue driving it with the check engine light. We stopped at filled it up with gas, completely tightening the gas cap, and the light still stayed on. Tried getting a hold of the owner or a manager or someone, with no luck. Tuesday, I speak with Bryce, hes the manager and owner's son, he said all it needed was the gas cap tightened and the light went out. There was no need to return the jeep. He said we used it for what we wanted, and just returned it early. We checked the gas cap, and made sure it was tight, and the light was still on. We didnt want to continue driving the jeep as hot as it was outside, with a 5 year old and 3 year old, and break down somewhere. He continued to tell me that wouldn't have happened. He asked what did I want him to do, he wasnt refunding money. Finally he said he'd refund $50. $50 out of $265, and we only had it 7 hours. When I said I would leave a review on Facebook and Google, he said go ahead and I wouldn't get my refund. I still have not received my $50 refund. Read moreAmazing company! My mom and I rented a Jeep to explore the beautiful mountains of TN. We couldn’t be more impressed with this company and the mountains. We showed up at 9 am not realizing that pick up wasn’t till 11. The owner was as nice and courteous as could be. She did clarify the policy for me but that didn’t stop her from going above and beyond. She made the employee stop what he was doing to go get our Jeep ready. They got it done quickly and we were on our way. She answered every question I had that day- even though a few weeks prior she was on the phone with me for an hour answering the same questions. She didn’t get angry or frustrated. She was patient and understood that we’ve never done something like this. She made us feel so comfortable and welcome. They even went out of their way to get pictures for us. I was so blown away by the “southern hospitality” she showed us. The Jeep was absolutely beautiful and drove like a dream. My mom and I had a blast driving it around all day. Good customer service is rare in today’s society but this company is in full supply. I was so blown away to see them do their best to accommodate everyone. The truth is you don’t pay for the Jeep you pay for they experience they offer. Read moreAmazing!!! The staff at SMJR were so very helpful and friendly! I called and asked several questions before booking our rental and Crystal was so helpful and answered all of my questions. We reserved a jeep online and picked it up the next day. Pick up is at 11:00 am and drop off is at 9:30 the next day. We didn't have any issues with pickup or drop off! We were given a map of the smoky mountains and they recommend beautiful routes to take in the jeep. We had ours for 2 days and we completed the whole route which was 400 miles!! It was the best experience!! We saw the most beautiful scenery and spent a lot of quality time together. Our favorite part of the ride was the "Tail of The Dragon" which is 11 miles with 318 curves!
