Pines Shopping Center — Local services in Placerville

Do your shopping in Placerville if you can and avoid Safeway unless absolutely necessary. The pharmacy borders on negligence and can't seem to fill basic medications on time. The majority of long-term check staff and management are dismal and appear to take out their frustration of career choice on customers. It's very hard for the staff to even fill an online delivery order properly, but delivery is still a better option vs. dealing with the staff in person. The bakery is also disappointing, and most items are either of poor quality or taste. Portions keep getting smaller and more expensive too. The Safeway in Placerville has Boar's Head deli products, but the Pollock Pines community is apparently not upscale enough so Primo Taglio it is. Just not a positive...

Located in the heart of Pollock Pines, local folks find their way to this center, knowing that they can get a decent lunch for a reasonable price as well as catch a game of Bingo on Tuesday nights. While you're there you can even pay your propane bill, pick up your mail and get in a quick round of laser tag over at the bowling alley. And come winter, you may even find a handmade cap sealed in plastic, hanging on the fence near the abandoned bank building. Neighbors helping neighbors...here in...

They stay open as much as possible even when it's rough. Not every visit is 5 stars but the overall is. Wish it wasn't such a tourist place lately but at least we still have a place that will power up the generators so we have food in a blackout. And staff that still smiles...
