If you’re in the market for an overpriced, untested appliance sold with attitude and zero accountability, Vic’s Appliances might just be your dream come true.
I went in ready to spend $900 on a used KitchenAid refrigerator — and silly me, I thought asking to see if it actually worked wasn’t unreasonable. You know… plug it in, make sure it gets cold, maybe even see if the ice maker functions? Apparently, that’s too much to ask at Vic’s.
The salesman I dealt with — whose sour mood greeted us before we even said hello — flat-out refused to connect the fridge to electricity or water. His reasoning? “We already inspected it when it came in.” Ah, of course. Because nothing inspires confidence like “just trust us.” No proof, no demonstration, and oh — by the way — no refunds. If it doesn’t work, they’ll “swap it” for whatever they happen to have lying around. Hope you like surprises!
I wrote a polite note to the owner, offering to buy the fridge with a simple request: let me confirm it actually works, and I’ll accept a 60-day exchange warranty. If not, and it turns out to be junk, I’d like the option of a refund. The salesman saw me walk in with the note, made eye contact, and then proceeded to stand there in silence for a full two minutes rather than speak to me. Only once I walked away did he rush over to grab the card — I’m sure to promptly file it straight in the trash.
This place gives “buyer beware” a whole new meaning. Skip the lecture, skip the attitude, and skip Vic’s — unless you enjoy playing roulette...
Read more0 STARS. BEWARE OF SELLER!! SOLD UNIT WITH WARRANTY AND REFUSES TO REPAIR. We purchased a Samsung Refrigerator from Val's. As part of the sale, he wrote on the receipt "60 DAY warranty, no refunds". Meaning he won't give me my money back for the unit if it breaks but he WILL repair it. I agreed and the sale was completed. He now says, within 60 day period, NO warranty because I didn't pay for delivery and picked the refrigerator up myself. This was never explained to me during the process of the sale. Furthermore, if there was no warranty since I picked up the unit, WHY WRITE 60 DAY WARRANTY on the receipt?. In conclusion, this guy is an unethical business owner who doesn't deserve any other customers to disappoint with his false promises. Hope this saves another person from wasting their hard...
