I am beyond disappointed with the ownership at Platte City Flowers and Gifts.. I have ordered from this location for over 10 years!! I have had a great experience with most orders and quick delivery. I typically call and give the florists the freedom to make an arrangement but today I requested an arrangement I saw on their website. When I saw the photo of what was sent, I was a bit disappointed. So I called to just express my disappointment. I'd like to point out that when Mark (one of the owners) got on the phone with me, I started by letting him know I was a long time customer and had always been pleased with what was sent and thanked him for how quickly they were delivered today. I then shared with him that I was pretty disappointment with the arrangement that was delivered this time. He responded in an off-put tone saying, "what was wrong with it?" I explained that they didn't look anything like the photo I ordered based on (pink, purples and greens) and what she received had blue hydrangeas in it. He responded rudely with, "I didn't have any green hydrangeas so I did the best with what I had." He offered to have me bring them back.. I live in another state and I'm not going to ask my mother to return them because they aren't what I ordered. Honestly, all I was hoping for was acknowledgement that they could have done better OR called me to let me know they didn't have the right flowers to fulfill my order and discuss other options. When Mark said, I could bring them back, I did interrupt him saying I wasn't going to bring them back. This seemed to get him very upset because then he snapped back at me saying, "I let you talk now you need to let me speak." I was in shock by how he was speaking to me and the phone call was ended. I literally can't believe the owner of a business would speak to a customer like that. One of the employees called me back about 20 minutes later and said the arrangement was being refunded but asked me to bring the vase back when she was done with the flowers. I told her I was never looking for a reimbursement for the order. I offered to pay for the vase because I was not going to ask my mother to return it. In the end, they said not to worry about it. Kaitlin (sorry if I spelled it wrong) was very kind, listened to me and apologized that I had a poor experience. I really appreciated her kindness and professionalism. I really hope the owner treats his employees better than he treats...
Read moreI didn't have a good experience the first time I ordered flowers from this shop. The flowers I ordered were not available, so instead of contacting me to tell me, they just threw in a jar of candy to make up for it (my mom cannot eat candy and was offended to recieve it as a gift) and they didn't even write my gift message to her correctly. When I called to ask about it, the woman I talked to was extremely rude and didn't offer any solution whatsoever.
Reluctantly, I gave them another chance. Again, I was disappointed with the arrangement. The flowers that arrived to my mom were not the ones pictured in the email they sent. The arrangement she got was much smaller and many of the blooms were already past their prime. I had even upgraded the arrangement to include more blooms at higher quality. As a prior florist myself, I know I could get a better bang for my buck and more helpful customer service elsewhere. I would not recommend this shop and I won't be doing business...
Read moreFirst off, I want to say that I've never had a problem with quality at this flower shop. However, this experience was awful and disappointing to say the least. First, I shouldn't have to call to make sure the job was complete before picking up but I did and good thing too. They didn't even know I had an order. Once they found it, I asked if I would need a receipt, and "no" was their response. I asked if they could give me a call when ready, no one did. I called an hour later to see if it was complete and it had been. I get there and tell them my name and guess what, the first thing out of the gentleman's mouth was? "Do you have a receipt?" Thankfully, I was smart enough to bring it anyway. I should NOT have to babysit you to make sure an order that I paid...
