Nice place…cool for Platte City to have something nice like this. Wrong, I am currently riding around on a knee scooter due to a recent surgery, then I had with me a long time friend in a wheelchair along with three other guy friends (the three of them are completely able bodied).
Initially we were helped by a gentlemen that apparently owned the bar or had stakes in the place. He was fine; but after he served us he disappeared to never be seen again during our visit. At one point I raised my hand to get some water for the table after we had ordered our initial drinks and after taking forever the lady running the bar waves back like I was waving at her.
Then my friend in the wheelchair and I were going to order drinks; but again, no one ever came to the table and at this point there are three behind the bar. I have my hand up again and the more mature lady behind the bar sees me; but doesn’t acknowledge me at all and as she passes by she sighs really loudly (did I already say she didn’t say anything to us or even look over at us).
At this point I said to the table I am done and ready to go (once the table is done of course).
Went up to pay and no acknowledgement once again…the more mature bartender was more involved with teaching what appeared to be someone still in high school how to shake a cocktail. They were having a gay old time, before finally acknowledging.
First time I have ever paid without tipping. I am 56 years old. I’m sorry to say that I will not be returning and they will not be in business long with this level of service.
Note: I did say something and no real response. One of my other friends stayed behind to let them know how upset my friend in the wheelchair was along with myself…this is when she stated that this is a “bar service only establishment” and made no apologies.
Good luck! I will not...
Read moreThis place is so chic and cozy! They turned up the swank, and the vibes are perfect. They have a fantastic selection of craft bourbons and whiskeys. The small batch craft beers are delicious! The menu descriptions are on point, and you can taste the time and care that went into each.
However, I’m here for the wine! They offer fantastic flight options at a great price if you’re unsure or wanting to try something new. The bottles available are priced reasonably and the flavors are out of this world. They’ve truly been curated by a connoisseur — there’s something for every pallet.
The bartender, Leia, was professional but chill. I felt no pressure to choose or order, plus the service was speedy and with a smile! Thank you! The owner, Laura, took me on a tour of my flight! She was incredibly knowledgeable, and explained each wine in exciting, mouthwatering detail. She knows her stuff! From region, climate, soil and tannins, this wonderful lady has found her calling!
If you’re looking for a cool place to unwind, this is it. If you’re looking for a safe and nonjudgmental place to try some finer beverages, look no further. If you just want a damn good...
Read moreSelected a bottle of wine to enjoy in the facility and had to wait while the three behind the bar held a conversation before we were addressed. Then and we had to pay $15 uncorking fee which is traditionally charged if you bring wine in that was not purchased there. You want us to buy wine from you and then pay you to open it for us? The bartender then filled a bucket of ice for a merlot, and when corrected, asked if we were “sure” we didn’t want red wine chilled. No one checked on us when we entered, while we were there, or when we left. I looked forward to a nice place to hit on our way back from Weston, we’ll...
