We found one salt/pepper silver piece priced as a pair.... maybe a bit unique as the silver markings suggest. When it's partner could not be found in the locked case, the owners called the vendor to find out where the other piece was and the answer was "when we find it we will sell the pair." Being from out of town I offered to pay the full price for the one and if the owner found it or not then I could be sure I at least had the one (they had to call the vendor a second time - who agreed - of course). About a week later, I got a call from the owner who said they'd located the other matching item and was ready for me to let them know how to get it to me. I called back, all by voicemail exchanges, left my address to ship and then offered to pay the shipping. A few days went by and I called again to pay the shipping and the owner (Greg?) indicated he had it ready to ship and he refused the offer for me to pay the shipping... the box arrived yesterday. The owner said he wanted me to be satisfied, more than anything, so the cost was not his biggest concern. A great find, in a truly true antique store, with problem solving as the key, with good folks. This star should really be a 5+ (kind of like when you got an A+ in school maybe). Perfect. ...
Read moreI have been an avid antiques collector for almost 40 years, and I am euphoric that I happened to stop by this mall. I stopped by near closing time, and drove 60 miles back the next day to take my time enjoying all of the treasures. I currently moved here from Colorado and have never in my life seen such a fine collection of advertising tins and small items. It is a tin collector's dream world. I find it irksome when people leave reviews complaining about prices. These are quality antiques and if they want a bargain they should go to a thrift store. There really is not a 'fair market value' in antiques, it is more of an 'opportunity cost', where you have the opportunity to purchase the item at the cost requested. You have to be able to find a comparable item to realize FMV. If you are looking for quality advertising pieces and friendly people, this is the antique mall for you. No crafts, no...
Read moreWas driving towards St. Joe Missouri, when I spied a sign stating Antique Mall, this exit. Well, of course, my SUV veered right off the highway to the mall. It was really nice, one of the vendors helped open the door when he saw me pushing Skippy in his stroller. They were warm & and welcoming, and the mall was very clean, organized and Greg was very sweet to me, helping me right away with a treasure & it fit me. Going down the aisle, I ran into a vendor working in his booth and found some really unique wood plaques. I made him an offer and he was very nice about it and said sure. So, all in all, a great first stop I didn't even know was on my agenda. I didn't get a great picture of Greg working the counter, but I wanted to thank him as he really was very nice & welcoming. Nice place to stop & check out. There are too many treasures for me to remember, but please check out...
