My daughter & I recently went to see a movie there. We went to the concessions and ordered pop, popcorn, candy, and a bottled water. My daughter and I went back up a few minutes later to get a small cup of ice because her bottled water was warm. The lady looked at her as though she grew a 3rd arm or something and just said, "ughh...I don't know, I guesssss." She didn't reach for a cup, but shook her head like my daughter was stupid, and called ahead the people behind us to serve them. I said, "All we need is a small styrofoam cup or something for her to put some ice in, and I'll do the rest (we already purchased food and our drinks)." She still wasn't going to get us a cup. My daughter stepped back and asked me, "mom, did I do something wrong?" I said, "no, just come on." We clearly wasn't going to get a separate cup. Something so small and so simple. I would have paid for the cup of nothing if she would've offered it. If I would have known her water was warm, and we couldn't get a separate cup prior to filling my own cup, I would've just given my daughter mine. I'm not trying to make a mountain out of a molehill, but I thought she was rude and could've handled what I call a very small situation...
Read moreI like the cinema, perhaps the only decent one in platteville, but at the ticket counter, there is a fat bald 40 to 50 yrs old salesman that has really been unfriendly so long, I don't know who he is, but if he doesn't own the theater, he must be a long term employee, since I saw him a lot there. I'm a minority people, and every time I entered the theater I felt his eyes emitting hot contempt on me, sometimes, he would also use some wired language to put me at unease. I can't say he discriminated people, no solid evidence on it based on the boarder-line language he used, but what's difference? he makes me feel it!! It is 21st century, and here is platteville, which is supposed to be a small friendly town. I can't believe that the hatred to residential aliens (if it was it) still...
Read moreWe went on Friday after Thanksgiving - so that is why I am still giving it 4 stars. The actual theatre was nice, the food was movie theatre popcorn, snacks, etc. The one downside was that they have no way set up for those of us who purchase our tickets online. They only have two lines and used both for people purchasing tickets AND for those that purchased early. So everyone was waiting in line, even those of us who purchased early. I did speak to the guy in charge who was working so hard and was able to help us, but I felt horrible cause it looked like we were jumping the line. That being said, it was a quaint little movie theatre. The workers were all very nice...
