Billows Electric Supply — Local services in Pleasantville

Have purchased from before w/ no issues. Nothing notably spectacular but smooth. This time, however, I called in advance so the order was together and quick for someone else to pick up. Even though I know they can take cards over the phone (I've picked up for someone who has called) they wouldn't which is understandable (even though I said I'd send over a picture of the card w/ my license). Where my issue lies is with the staff of this stated "family run business" that answered the phone on my return call letting them know according to my navigation I'd be 1 minute late & the staff member who would not wait the 1minute beyond closing for me to fly there to make it. It literally turned 5:01 as I dashed into the lot...it almost felt spiteful. I'm all in support of the little guys....even if it's more money but never again will I support a business with such ignorance. I guess my little order of less than $150 wasn't worth the 1 minute. But spending 5 minutes to gather and cut wire and now 5 more to put it all back makes more...

Called at 10 am today to see if they had some hard to find decora three gang with one toggle and two decora holes. Nice guy answered and I asked if they sold retail and he seemed happy to reply with a sure do and said he’d connect me with the counter once I told him I needed wall plates and proceeded to put me on hold. Was on hold for about two minutes listing to a very calming rendition of Here Comes The Sun. Guy named Steve picked up and went into the stock room to make sure they physically had the covers. I showed up an hour later and Keith was at the counter and had my wall plates. What a pleasant experience dealing with Billows from web site to part in hand. I walked in to buy a part for some old work and the sales clerk gave me a suggestion for a better product that would save the customer money and save me time installing it... whereas old work parts cost more money maintaining them over time..i really appreciated the short cut these guys gave me..will return to do...
