dd's DISCOUNTS — Local services in Pomona

I was excited to try out this store when I was seeking a replacement for Gabe's (back east) and dd's was recommended. I was pretty disappointed.

All I wanted was some discount 100% cotton tanks. Every single thing was a sweat-inducing poly mix. I checked every tank top. Ugh. It was ugly. I did check around. They had some name brand shoes. I found a scarf that I thought was so pretty - with thread-stretched spots all through it (was ruined). The rest of the stuff (household) was really cheap made-in-China garbage. The redeeming factor - I found some 100% cotton made in India dresses and shifts. Most were very funky designs but I found one that I really loved and bought it. Price? $6.99! That was great and the price I want to pay for this sort of clothing.

I don't have any expectations about this store after my experience. But I will go back and look for more cotton items from...

My rating is based off the employee's and the lack of diversity in the store. The last time I've been at this location the cashier overlooked me in line (which should have been hard even I was the first person in line) to help someone who looked like her. Now this lady was in the return line which I get they call then 1st however the lady wasn't returning anything she was purchasing items. So I asked "Is there more then one line now beside returns?" The cashier is going to look at me and say "oh sorry I didn't see you there." Really? I waited my turn and made sure I let them know that I will not be shopping at this store anymore I've been overlooked more then once and I'm done. Sad when you'd rather stick with your owe race and serve them first verse doing your job...

This place was not what most d.d's stores represent themselves. The store was dirty, the clothes were hanging off the hangers, the floor was not clean and a majority of the clothes were ripped. The customer service was mediocre. There was the casual question...will that be cash or credit? I looked to see if there was a line behind me for the rush. Unfortunately, there wasn't hardly anybody in the store. Also, the store is a clothing retail store but the people working were not dressed accordingly. They can't say they couldn't afford it..it's d.d's. I think this store has a lot of potential but the store and the workers need some d.d.'s care and a little cleaning crew.
