When I say we LOVE Cinnamon Shore we truly do. This is where we have vacationed for the past 4 years. Giving them 3 stars hurts but this year there was just one too many things that weren't up to our standards, especially considering the price we pay to stay!!!!! First up, we went to Kiera's pool one afternoon-we stepped into what felt like a hot tub. It was not refreshing at all. I asked the staff what happened, as I know this pool has coolers--to my disappointment, the coolers had broken and they said they were not sure when they would be fixed. This was their words, "Maybe this week or maybe next." But what I heard was, during your trip, they won't be! So our other options are the other large pool (which doesn't have a cooler and is probably just as hot) or drive down to the South pool (with 2 kids and a baby) and enjoy that. Second, coming off the beach we love to rinse our cart, toys and selves before heading back to the house and the entire week the showers at the beach exit were "OUT OF ORDER". Bummer and just added to it. Third, at the South Pool (which is basically brand new) you find wonderful lounge seating to place your belonging while you swim. This year, I didn't even want to put my bag or kids on the cushions as they were filled with dried, stuck on food, ketchup and other crumbs. I'll repeat, for what we pay to stay, it wouldn't hurt for the staff to give it a quick wipe down or power wash at the end of the night. Keeping up on it would avoid major cleaning every day. I beg to think, maybe if we came earlier in the busy season, would it be cleaner? Sad to think about yet maybe true. I have high standards for a place like C.S. It's stunning and beautiful and their pools should keep up. Fourth and last, every year we eat at Kiera's pool as it beats heading back to our house, stopping the fun we are having just to eat lunch. As soon as we get our food, we are attacked by flies. I can't take one bite without shoeing a fly away, it makes want to NOT eat. It would be great if the staff at the pool would have those Fly Repelling bug fans at each table. This review may seem like some small things and yet all of these things for OUR FAMILY add up and make the experience of our longest and ONLY beach vacation a little less wonderful. Of course we plan to return with the hopes that C.S keeps up with the demand. I think Cinnamon was a well kept secret and now it's exploded with visitors from all over Texas. The benefit of finding an oasis without leaving the state is a HUGE factor in why we go and will continue to go. Love you, C.S and I hope you find this review helpful and...
Read moreThis used to be a go to for family summer vacation (last trip before school) the adults had “fun stuff” to do here and the kids had a blast. Super safe etc. in a year we saw a lot of change in the service and clientele at Cinnamon Shore. The homes very packed in, and they’re still building… went to the beach where the people sitting next to us were a couple with dogs that were barking for about and hour, I said “please, quiet your dogs we’re trying to enjoy a peaceful beach day” and the guy immediately said, “f-off” (classy guy). I called the office as the couple were in Cinnamon shore beach chairs had a name board and umbrella from cinnamon shore. The staff said “it’s a public beach we can’t ask them to move” (which is not true these people paid for their spot same as we did, they weren’t on public property they were sitting in cinnamon shore chairs on cinnamon shore property) They can be hostile and vulgar and I get to pay (not cheap) to sit next to them… & be told F off in front of my kids followed by rambling about their lives…obnoxious barking dogs, (they were obviously intoxicated). Why weren’t we offered a new space? Poor customer care. We left the beach and didn’t go back. I complained again at check out and asked for a refund for our paid space on the beach, the manager at the desk said she felt bad that happened & she’d call me about my request for a refund & crickets (I guess that’s a “no”). We stayed in the same home we stayed in last year (because we loved it) this year it was dirty. Candy under the bed with ants. Stains on the furniture… water left in coffee pot. Whomever trimmed the trees left chunks of thorn ridden bark? In the lawn. Beer cans (open with old beer) left in our golf cart… all around noticeable difference in quality. Sad. I feel like we find a place that is a hidden gem like this one and then… we have to keep looking. I’m very happy we didn’t buy here.
Positives: Lisabellas dinner food still yummy (the scallops were perfect) drinks and service amazing. Too bad I sat on spaghetti (left and not cleaned off my seat) with white linen pants on. The beach is lovely (except the tar) people on the beach early morning SUPER nice. It’s just not worth the money to stay here anymore. We will do an airbnb next time pay less and not expect as...
Read moreThis was our second time at Cinnamon Shore. We were excited Our first time there was so much fun! So many memories made. But when we pulled in our excitement went a little out the window. Yes the house was absolutely beautiful. But that was about it. There was so much construction it really constantly got in the way. We couldn't even back out of our house because fork lifts and worker vehicles blocked us in. Even with sitting and waiting they would just look at us we were on their time. When going to the pool I understand it's the new Cinnamon Shore but there was 0 staff the entire 4 days we were there. When I called the pool on the North Side they said they couldn't help get us anything. I was even told one day that staff should be there at a certain time and they never came. Mind you we have kids they get hungry and thirsty and there is a sign of no outside food or drinks. We were just pretty disappointed. Honestly I wish we would've been told when renting how much under construction/short staffed they were or we would've stayed North. Just honestly feels like money went down the drain. We paid for another good experience that we didn't get. We couldn't go outside much because of noise and stuff flying everywhere from the workers. Actually every time we opened the doors stuff would come into the house. We were constantly sweeping. My kids picked up nails and other things that the workers just left around open for them to pick up. A worker almost backed into our Golf Cart as we were coming back from the beach one day because they weren't paying attention. Like I said I just wish we were informed. When we checked out we were asked how our visit was. My husband tried to express his thoughts. All that was said was yep it's new construction like it's our fault we didn't know. He even reached out and got a call back but he was busy working. He text the lady saying he would call back and he did she didn't answer so he text her letting her know he called he never got a response. Like I said if we could go back and know more than we would've changed locations for a better time. I know I'm venting and I know I'm giving a low star but we did try to get in contact and we've been ghosted from y'all. I hope y'all do better because I'm not sure if my family will ever return after this...
