They have a very slow process for making drinks here and one rude employee can muck thung up even more. Went on a Saturday morning. There were about 4 people in front of us. Cashier was very nice and polite. Of course you're asked to tip at time of ordering, but you are expected to do absolutely everything yourself. We were asked if for there or to go. We were eating in. I happened to have a sprained ankle. We sat at the counter. Whole counter and the seats were full of food. Children must have sat there. We cleaned it ourselves, of course. No employees come from behind the counter to do anything. Customers were stacked around the To Go delivery space on counter where barista places the To Go orders. Man & woman who ordered for their family attempted to confirm their order and ask for help with an ill fitting lid. He could not get the lid on one at all. Barista copped an attitude with him. Didn't fix the lid that had not been put on properly and which he could not get on. He had to reach into work area to get his own drink carrier. He and his wife were obviously miffed with the service.
My name was called out and I threw up a hand and said 'right here' from the counter. Barista slings it into TO GO area without looking at all, much less acknowledging me. The man with the lid issues exchanges frustrated look with me. I hobble to get my order.
Food was good and man who brought it to us from the kitchen was polite. In the end, we bussed our area before and after, had to get up and get my drink, utensils, etc. Had to wait 15 mins for drinks. Why did we give a 20% tip?
Dumb enough to go back the next day to see if things were going better. Walk in to hear customer picking up her coffee from to go area passively aggressively say loudly to husband for all who could hear "I'm sorry it took us an HOUR to get me a simple cup of coffee!!" I turned around and left. Drove 10 mins to Barefoot Beans. Pretty sure even with drive time I...
Read moreWe stayed at Cinnamon Shore on vacation and visited Shore Cafe a couple of times. Great place to stop in for a light snack in the afternoon. Our daughter LOVED getting a scoop of Chocolate Gelato each time we went. We ordered a charcuterie board (pictured). It had a good variety and was only $30 and we felt the serving was quite generous compared to other places we go to and pay more for much less. My only suggestion would be to ask customers if they have a preference for more cheese and less meat or vice versa. There was a lot of meat on the plate and a little more cheese or additional fruit would have been a nice option. There was also an additional side box of crackers that went with this board that is not shown in the picture. We also ordered the Goat Cheese appetizer with fig spread and crostini and it was delicious! There was quite a number of options on the menu for light afternoon snacks, breakfast or coffee. We enjoyed have beer, wine/champagne at the bar area inside. There was also a nice outdoor seating area...
Read moreI visited Shore Cafe for the first time along with my daughter and father the day before Thanksgiving. When we walked in I didn't see a coffee menu posted so I asked the girl at the register for a menu. She, Lex, responded (clearly bothered) by letting me know they were closing in 5 minutes As to deter me from making a purchase. I said that's fine that we only wanted some coffee. There was an older couple who walked in behind us which she greeted and didn't bother to let them know about the time closure. Whether it was that she didn't want to serve us, was in a hurry to close, or clearly just doesn't have customer service skills - the overall experience was poor due to her attitude. The cinnamon latte was good and as I grabbed the 3 drinks and said "thank you" to the other employee I didn't receive a "you're welcome". This was such a cute place, but was unfortunately the "atmosphere" was ruined by their lack of service and...
