This is quite possibly the worst exchange I've ever been to. It's not the fault of the staff; I've probably only encountered 2 grumpy employees out of the huge # of staff that work there. The issues are that you simply can't shop there in the summer because they, for some reason, won't fix the ac so it actually cools off the store. It's literally so hot in there that you feel like you're going to pass out. I've literally had to walk out with nothing before because I was getting too sick from the heat to get what I came for and most other base residents say they don't even go in there in the summer. The other issue is that they never get restocked. Because they never get restocked, no one can buy the products, and because no one can buy the products, the computer thinks there's no reason to restock because no one's buying it anyway. It's the dumbest situation you can imagine in retail. The NEX is located right next to base housing and the barracks, so it's mostly frequented by enlisted personnel. However, what they do stock is not aimed at enlisted and their families. Ex: they, for some nonsensical reason, got rid of all the normal purse brands you can afford on an enlisted income (like Kipling) and only stock purses no one can afford except high ranking officer's wives (like Coach). Then they tell you no one's buying the purses they have so they can't expand their offerings. Yeah, because you're not selling purses anyone can afford. They don't stock basic first aid supplies like saline wound wash, they'll be sold out of Purina Kitten Chow for several months, they don't carry typical accessories for the current main Samsung models... normal things you find at normal places on and off base. On top of all that, they have the most limited hours I've ever seen at an exchange. It's beyond bizarre and so...
Read moreI've placed 3 different online pick up orders here to this location. They've canceled items left and right, saying the item isn't in stock. The very last pick up order, they canceled ALL of the items and I just couldn't believe it since online said there were MULTIPLES in stock. When we went in to the location to check it out, we can see a majority of the shelves are un organized. Even with that, we were able to find the items we ordered within minutes, just by searching. To make matters worse, when we tried to purchase an item for the price shown online at the official NEX website, they would not honor it, said they are only going to honor the price shown on the tag in store. Seems to me that either someone is being lazy and not actually trying to gather the pick up items or the location is trying to keep as much money as they can since they don't want to honor the sales and prices online. Very disappointed in this location, I hope there is positive improvement to their service...
Read moreI guess that this is a non-review review, because if you have access to the Navy Exchange, you know what it is like & if you don't there is no point in explaining it to you, right? And if you've seen one Exchange you've seen 'em all, right? Notably, they are a good source for Navy pride items, have a nice garden shop, a decent selection of clothing & shoes for women, men & children PLUS a good selection of electronics. I won't buy a new TV or computer - Apple or PC/laptop anywhere else. You STILL HAVE TO SHOP: The NEX is no longer the automatic low price leader. BUT their shelves are no longer filled with off-brand or No-Name stuff either. Columbia, Nike, first rate cosmetics, Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, Toshiba & many other top furniture and appliance manufacturers are available. CELL PHONES are available through the same contractor that Costco uses. We do shop here a lot, but not exclusively. Watch for sales...
