Stepping into Legacy with high hopes and everything seeming to work out perfect to move in became the worst letdown of my entire life. Two months into living in the "luxury" apartments we had a family of squirrels living in our vent. On one occasion they took out the FIRST baby that was keeping us up at night squealing in the early morning hours and told us they would tighten the screws on the vent so it will not happen again. Two weeks later we had the vent on the counter and the mom squirrel running rampant in our apartment. Thinking they would help clean up the mess from the squirrel and put the vent back they left it all and said they would come back in the morning and to just avoid using the bathroom for a week or so.I was so glad paying for a two bed, two bath and only being able to have access to one bathroom. One of the workers in the office came to our apartment to discuss the cracks in the walls, the squirrel situation, and the beneath the counter tops that were cracking and falling apart; this had been in March, we did not receive any maintenance on the counters so we couldn't use that side of the counter or else we would be eating wood.Beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, my boyfriend and I were affected by layoffs and hours at my job were cut. We were trying to scrape by applying for every assistance program we could. This was not okay for Legacy, we kept in contact with what we had for rent and paid towards it chunks at a time. Everyone recieved a stimulus check and they thinks the check for $1200.00 dollars was going right towards them when we had cell phone bills, car payment, health insurance, cable, electric, credit cards. It's funny legacy includes nothing but trash and water, and the water is what you use so technically rent includes nothing besides a roof.Rent for the 2 bed 2 bath is $1219.00 so that's more than the stimulus check to begin with. Then add on water and every other bill and see how far those two checks went. Still in the middle of a pandemic looking for jobs and currently working already we were at a dead end. I was at work May 29 when I received a text message from my boyfriend saying we needed to talk about our living arrangements due to Natalie in the office calling him and telling us that they are ready to evict us in the following three days. I immediately called Natalie and talked to her myself, she explained that we have always been early with rent until covid happened. But with the debt we were at we were not going to come out of the hole and "we should try to find a friend's house that you could lay on the couch or floor." This place rather see their tenants homeless than try to work with them on a payment plan. At this point i was at work and just got paid $135.00 for the week the night before and sent a payment online to Legacy for $100.00. Telling Natalie (on the phone because she never talked to us in person like she said she would) spent my whole weeks check basically towards rent with barely any gas in my car, no food in the house, Natalie's only answer was to just leave the keys in the office on the 1st. Over the weekend, we began to freak out cause we had three day notice to move out and we couldn't even look for other apartments because they were all closed over the weekend.During this time we sold all our furniture, shoes, games, etc, to come up with something to plead for them not to evict us. We came up with more than three quarters of what we owed and they said they would work on a payment plan. Come to find out their "payment plan" was them just telling us we owe the rest before the 15th.So bringing them a money order over and over, breaking down crying in the office due to stress they would just smile in your face as long as they had their payment. They also took away my right to see my balance online and they told me they did not want partial payments anymore. Never had I heard of an apartment turning down money. I do not recommend this place to anyone looking to be happy where they lay their...
Read moreSince the managers and front office team seem to have 0 communication with one another OR their residents, I am prompted to leave this negative review.
Please read all of this if youâre considering moving here.
My husband and I just moved out in March and we were hit with a $730 bill that wasnât completely itemized and explained ($500+ for carpet damages). When I called about it March 28th I was told by the person I spoke to that they would âtalk to the manager and get back to me with more information.â Iâve been waiting A MONTH for an update after being harassed via email and phone by Arlington properties regarding the bill and every single time, I have to tell them that Iâm waiting for more info and they respond âThey did not communicate this with us.â I have emailed legacy and the response I get is asking me what I need help with regarding the bill as if I didnât already completely explain myself to someone and was told I would be contacted again with more info. I guess they just didnât care to take note of that or bring it back up! They do not care about their residents!!!!
My husband and I lived here for 2 years and everything was fine the first year.
The second year, the rent went up $200 a month while the quality of the community went down. I had neighbors below me who were very loud, smoked weed every single day to the point where you could constantly smell it outside and inside it would wreak into the bathroom. I also had instacart shoppers warn me that these neighbors were stealing people orders. No one was friendly except for like 2 people in the entire 2 years of staying here. I was walking ON THE WALKWAY at night and both because the streets are lit poorly and because people donât pay attention, I was almost hit by someone careless. There have been multiple cases of people getting their cars broken into and speeding. But instead of actually doing anything and maybe idk installing some cameras with the high number of complaints, they send out the same copy & paste email 500000 times to act like they care.
Hallways were always dirty with trash. Sometimes the trash people wouldnât even pick up the trash and Iâve gotten penalized for it. They will leave trash all over the hallway if they drop stuff and it just sits there. Iâve had a poop filled diaper sitting rotting on my staircase.
During the last hurricane, the complex flooded so bad that the water was literally up to your knees because their water drains were clogged and no one did anything about it or bothered to prepare. Lots of people lost their cars because of it.
When they do the annual pressure washing, they send out an email to move your stuff out of the doorway which we have done. What they did not disclose is that thereâs strong bleach in the pressure washing and it seeped through my doorway, having to block it with towels that were now ruined. I have 3 emotional support animals and the bleach smell was so horrid that I could not breathe. I called to complain about it and was literally gaslit telling me âwe did disclose thisâ when I can show you the email that they did not. They sent out a one sentence apathetic email after the damage was already done.
Parking was never enforced and there were MANY times where people who didnât even live at the complex filled up parking completely and youâd have to park half a mile away. The complex in general is not accessible. Iâve gotten multiple packages lost. Lots of careless, inconsiderate people who live here too and no one does anything about it.
For this price rent that theyâre charging, you are better off somewhere better for $100 or $200 more a month. There is NOTHING luxury or even updated about this place.
Please do not apply here. It breaks my heart that what could be a great relationship between residents and staff are just a money grab at the...
Read moreI was a resident for almost 7 years. When I moved in Pegasus Residential Managed the apartments. The structure of the lease agreements, in particular early termination fees were different. As a whole, more things were included with the price of rent (cable!) as well under Pegasus. Arlington took over at some point and things began to change. Cable no longer included with rent, rent increased and the structure of the early termination fees changed (sneaked in by way of an addendum, read carefully!) and the options for early termination became very limited. If you move out early, they will nickle and dime you on fees...I paid so much in early termination fees (and forfeited my security deposit) I might as well had paid each months rent for the remainder of the lease. They even charged me to send me a letter...what business charges the customer to send a letter or mail?!?!? No breaks whatsoever for a loyal, timely paying tenant. The charge for mail was truly the icing on the cake. Their process made moving out at a stressful time in my life (a medical crisis with an elderly parent & lack of care due to Covid-19!) more of a headache. All that aside, the best things I can say about the complex is the maintenance team is speedy and friendly when you have an issue. The lake is beautiful. The landscape is pretty (minus the Smell of dog poop). In hindsight those are probably the things that kept me there for so long. The negatives...people in neighboring apartments with loud dogs, loud neighbors (I lived in 20-104) dogs above me made my place sound like a bowling alley beneath, on the sides of me more barking dogs and loud music and my neighbors across the hall started having domestic disputes frequently requiring law enforcement response early in the mornings. Crowded parking, it was normal to park 2-3 buildings away and walk to your apt. Door dings on your cars, people have 0 respect for your car. People ignore the stop signs, run and speed right through them. When I moved out I took a demotion with Much less income to take care my ailing parent, and I had NO idea how Iâd get all their fees paid. BUT Unexpectedly and thankfully God turned things around in a short period of time. I ended up getting a promotion and better paying job in the area I moved to, which enabled me to buy a 4 bedroom 2,400 sq ft new construction home I just closed on and moved into, big enough for me and my mom to move into that is more handicap accessible! My mortgage is only $180 more per month than my rent. My ending experience with these people made me never want to waste my money on renting again or be nickled and dimed out of money for something I donât even own. If you must rent, cool...pick a newer complex (so many in the area!) because youâll likely get more bang for your buck, less noise issues, better parking and according to colleagues, their termination fees arenât as pricey and theyâre more willing to accommodate you in an...
