DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Was not impressed, I had booked this place for two days. she did not tell me that you cannot check in past 6pm until I decided to call her when I was in Portland to make sure we still had a booking. We had driven from canada which was pretty much a 10 hour drive, she was not in the least accommodating, we ended up sleeping that night on the side of the road, due to everything being booked on the weekend including motel. had absolutely no sleep, we ended up having breakfast the next day and decided to check in early because of her policy, showed up at 11am, office was closed, noticed the hours sitting on the floor apparently it closes at 6:30pm so we would of been half an hour late the night before. I decided to call her again and she picks up tells us we can't check in until 12:30, lol all we wanted was to check in take a shower and leave for sight seeing, she couldn't do it, I explained to her we have been sleeping on the side of the road can we please use your shower at least. She says oh your just going use my shower and leave to stay somewhere else. Wow I have never met someone like that in my life, I had to plead with her to use her shower. She finally says yes. After that I really didn't feel comfortable staying here. We ended up finding a beautiful government campground in humbug mountain state park , which is ten minutes away. full rv hookup, super friendly staff and beach access through a walkable trail was minutes away. Please what ever you do do...
Read moreWe spent 3 nights at Port Orford RV Village on our way up the beautiful Oregon coast. We intended to stay 1 night as we were heading back home to Washington. We were met and checked in about dusk by the on duty staff person Gordon who was friendly and engaging. They don't take credit card so it was fortunate that we had our check book along. |The next morning we packed up and started down the road and immediately lost power steering before going a block. We turned around and pulled back into our site to investigate the problem. We were greeted by Gordon who then told other RV guests of our situation. Within minutes we had helpful neighbors asking how they could help. The belt tensioner bearings had broke and destroyed the serpentine belt and related parts. A fellow RVer drove me to 2 different parts stores in opposite directions over the next 2 days to get the needed parts and the owners son, Clint was so kind to bring his tools and mechanical skills to make the repairs and get us back on the road again. In the 3 days we spent there it felt like we were a family as we gathered to play games one evening and get better acquainted. |We certainly would stop again as the park was clean and the people we met were wonderfully helpful and kind. 5 stars!! The only negative, it would be easier if they took credit cards but I understand there are fees associated with accepting credit. |Bruce and Teri...
Read moreAdorable RV Park with the friendliest office staff. I was happily welcomed upon my arrival and, guided to my site and assisted with backing in. Everything here is so neat and clean and grounds are immaculate and nicely decorated.
This is a smaller RV park, but they do have coin operated laundry facilities, showers, and a social room. There is also an off leaf dog space at the front of the park. My neighbors were quiet, as was the rest of the park.
One important note, they do not take credit/debit cards, only cash. Additionally, they do not allow check-ins after 6pm. This is done out of courtesy for quests currently staying in the park. We've all had that one experience where someone arrives late while your sleeping and make time of noise setting up.
As for the negative reviews, they appear to be late arrivals who were not too happy they were turned away. You have to call to make reservations and when you do, they tell you they only accept cash and don't allow late arrivals.
This is a wonderful place to stay. Don't let the negative reviews keep you away. I'm glad I didn't and thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the amazing kindness and...
