I dont know what a cook needs to do to make a person as sick as I am from eating some cheese curds and a burger, but my stomach is as loud as an angry t-rex, feels like one punching me from inside and I had to urgently run to have danger doodoo as well as feel like I want to puke. Too bad because a nice lady feom the KOA down the street recommended the burger as being outstanding. Now instead of nourishing my body with a good meal, I wasted my time and momey so I can spend my camping night running to the bathroom facilities. I NEVER get sick cooking at home and I'm not careful at all about any of the big cooties people talk about. You seriously have to be absolutely disgusting with a total lack of sanitation to do this to someone, or you have it out for them. Boo. The burger was sub par on a huge bun and the cheese curds tasted like they had an entire bottle of garlic powder in them. Im breathing fire in more ways than one. edit: still sick the next day late afternoon. Horseradish from the cheese curd marinara is obvious. Be warned.

Don't judge a book by its cover! We drove past this place a 1/2 dozen times and ate at every other restaurant in town before we ventured in. It's a bar, a cozy one. There's some pool tables and machines to gamble on. 8-10 small tables to sit at. It's clean, and most importantly didn't smell like stale liquor. Get the wings! Probably the best wings I've had, crispy, perfectly sauced, huge portion to share. Their burgers are yummy. Fries are battered and tasty. Pizza was just okay. Salads are generous and quite good, they even packaged the chicken separately so it wouldn't wilt the salad. It's all "bar food" - deep fried appetizers, burgers, pizza, and salads. You're not going to find any gluten free buns or vegan options here. The atmosphere is great. Laid back and friendly. Great way to meet the locals and hear all their stories. They do get busy, so bring your patience and be prepared to wait 45min or so for your food. They do offer to go orders.

Great little "Dive Bar", they say. I'm not sure if it's a dive but a cool, local watering hole where the drinks are generous on the alcohol and everyone seems to be pretty friendly. Had a delicious pizza; for sure the best place in town to get a pizza. Possibly the only place. I'm not sure if they deliver but they may have a delivery service like DoorDash, etc. Lots of other things on the menu and so far they all taste great. The Salty Dawg is a local landmark for good reason. Great food and drinks with friends!

Our server/bartender was nice, attentive, and helpful, but I can’t speak too highly of the food. Maybe the specialty is pizza(?). The Taco Salad for $10 was a small pile of spring mix greens, a small bit of pico de galla, topped with a VERY small amount of cheese and chicken (my choice of meat). Menu said it would also have avocado, but it didn’t. When I questioned our server, she brought back a small amount of ā€œavocado cremaā€, saying that the menu should have read that, not avocado. The pile of chips that came with it were good. Partner had the House Tacos, and at $8 for three, was a considerable bargain compared to the $10 pile of spring mix they called a Taco Salad. Each Of the House Tacos had a good amount of meat, lettuce, and tomato. However, the tortillas very quickly became too soggy to hold, so the whole thing turned into a knife and fork meal. The quality of the food was not so great, but the House Tacos were a good amount of food for the price. But they should either reduce the price of the Taco Salad or beef it up with more ingredients. Also, it was served in a very small bowl along with the chips, which made it impossible to toss or cut up the larger lettuce leaves without it spilling out into the table. The ambiance inside is that of a somewhat scaled down dive bar. There appeared to be a number of happy locals. We’ll be in town several more days, but won’t...

My husband and I stopped at this place for the first time today, and actually it blew us away! It really did! We got a variety of things, and everything from the pizza to the burger, even the side salad, was amazing! The care put into the presentation (even though our order was to-go) is apparent and I really appreciated the abundance of tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and mushrooms on what I had initially assumed would just be a small side salad (most places aren’t particularly impressive). Like someone else previously stated, there really is something special about their fries. I don’t know what’s going on here but I’ve genuinely never had fries so good. My husband and I have eaten in most of the states, and the food at Salty Dawg was noteworthy to say the least. I don’t understand the few negative reviews this place has, but then again there are few, and there are always going to be ā€œthoseā€ people. You would be silly not to try this place if given the opportunity! Lastly, the patio/smoking area didn’t bother us, and this is more of a pub-feel type of place. Anyone leaving a bad review because of patrons smoking is really out of touch, lol. Do better, your grandparents are...
